Analysis of the Experiment Name Instructor Course Date Analysis of the Experiment Description of the Experiment The research involves how perception about other people is linked with judgments about those others. The research question was based on the notion that understanding other people results in better understanding of why people believe what they do. Increased understanding would lead to deeper insight into how to reduce treatment disparities across social groups and individuals. Basically, the research intended to establish the impact of perception on the judgment of other people. It shows how individual differences in people influence our understanding of them. How the Study is designed to answer the Question The study is designed to collect information on people’s perception towards images. The research utilized the survey research design, where participants were required to view images of faces and rate how explicitly or implicitly prejudice each individual pictured was. Moring (2014) indicates that survey research design is ideal when collecting information involving people’s perception of a phenomenon. Similarly, the research used survey research to determine participant’s perceptions of images. There are other research designs that could have been utilized such as field experiments, systematic reviews or case studies, but he survey design was the most effective in giving insight into the participants’ responses. The participants were required to rate how prejudiced each person was. The research was testing how the participants’ perceptions of other people determine how they rate them. In the event that a participant would perceive a person on the image as having explicit prejudice, the participant’s perception of the person would have led to the judgment. The same case applies on judgments involving people on the images that are rated as not having explicit prejudice. The participant’s perception of the individual would have led to the judgment. Therefore, the main aim of the research is to evaluate the participants’ perception of an individual and how it leads to judgments about them. The survey research design effectively captures the participants’ perceptions towards other people. Therefore, it is an ideal research design as it gives insight into the participants’ perceptions of the subjects. The instruments of measurement used in the study enhanced the internal validity of research. The research design was valid as the findings represented the phenomenon that was being studies. The main phenomenon under study is individual perception towards others and how it influences how we perceive others. The survey research design is intended to collect in-depth information pertaining to a phenomenon. What is your hypothesis or hypotheses? What is the null hypothesis? A hypothesis is a shrewd guess, an assumption, explanation, an informed judgment or inference that is professionally adopted to explain facts or conditions or to guide one on how to attack the problem. A hypothesis helps the study in suggesting prediction, explaining outcome and in guiding the investigation to provide a focus. There are two types of hypotheses commonly used in research namely Alternative hypothesis and Null hypothesis. An alternative hypothesis is stated in the positive form indicating the direction or kind of relationship expected. It is concept oriented. For this research the alternative hypothesis is: · Music improves productivity in the work environment. The null hypothesis is justified where prior knowledge or findings are lacking, and where there is no basis for predicting the probable direction or relationship. It is a negative form of the hypothesis that the phenomenon has occurred out of chance, hence non-directional. Early development of Web, large numbers of documents assigned by readers’ emotions have been generated through new portals. By analyzing to the previous studies which focused on author’s perspective, our research focuses on readers’ emotions invoked by news articles. Our research paper provides meaningful assistance in social media application such as sentiment retrieval, opinion summarization and election prediction. In this paper, we predict the readers’ emotion of news, social media based on the social opinion network. Most specifically, we construct the opinion network based on the semantic distance. The communities in the news network, opinion network indicate specific events which are related to the emotions. Therefore, the news network, opinion network serves as the lexicon between events and corresponding emotions. We discussed neighbor relationship in network to predict readers’ emotions. At the last our result, our methods obtain better result than the state of the art methods. Moreover, our research developed a growing strategy to prune the network for practical application. Automatic facial expression analysis is an area of great research especially in the field of computer vision and robotics. In the work done so far, the facial expression analysis is done either by recognizing the facial expression directly or indirectly by first recognizing AUs and then applying this information for facial expression analysis. The various challenges in facial expression analysis are associated with face detection and tracking, facial feature extraction and the facial feature classification. The presented review gives a brief description of the time line view of the research work carried for AU detection/estimation in static and dynamic image sequences and possible solutions proposed by researchers in this field since 2002.
