Finishing End Superintendent
- Responsible for leadership and overall administration of the
finishing department. This includes Planer, Dry kilns,
Energy Plant and Shipping department.
- Lead by example and always maintain the highest level of
personal safety at work and at home.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the
facility. Including combustible dust audits and process
modifications to meet and exceed industry standards
- Ensure Supervisors are completing Safety Contacts, Incident
investigations, Job reviews, SQCDE meetings, Safety tours,
action completion and Crew safety meetings.
- Ensure all aspects of the facility are in compliance with
WorkSafe BC regulations.
- Ensure quality standards are met through day to day
monitoring of key performance indicators.
2. - Monitor area cost to ensure we are in line with forecast and
communicate regularly with group to maintain consistency.
- Monitor and adjust weekly runs to business plan production
targets. Work closely with Kiln supervisor to ensure the
right product is in front of the mill to achieve these targets.
- Assist maintenance department with preventative and
critical maintenance planning.
- Support Sales Coordinator and CWPM with ensuring
customer needs are met.

Planer Production Supervisor
- Daily supervision of 25 employees
- Complete daily safety observations to ensure high safety
standards are consistent and communicated throughout the
plant
- Complete quality checks throughout the mill from the point
the product enters to when it is packaged and placed in the
yard for shipment.
- Daily reviews with new employees for their first 30 days
worked
- Facilitate safety meetings; generate actions for safety
concerns brought forward. Communicate previous items to
ensure the loop is complete.
- Complete 6 month job reviews with all employees manned
to my shift
- Recent member of the Safety committee. Assist in general
occupational health and safety site wide.
- Complete crew manning weekly. Manage vacation coverage
through call list employees and crew movement.
- Manage order files and product changeovers to meet
attainment requirements.
