2. 01.
Don't stop learning
It's really easy to say.
Because you're done,
personal growth can be
neglected. Now that you've
transitioned, I believe the
world needs you to be even
better, your children,
grandchildren and
community. Now's just the
beginning of who you can
become.
3. 02.
Don't rush into
new activities
More than at any time in your
life, you have time to reflect
and decide what really matters
to you. It's very tempting to
just get busy. Giving yourself
time to consider what you
value, will shape the activities
you choose and enjoyment
from it.
4. 03.
Don't be a junkie
I'm not talking about
drugs but getting yourself
addicted to the TV. It's
becoming the biggest
killer of dreams and
possibilities of retirees
I've seen. While it's good
to wind down and watch
a good show, ensure it
doesn't keep you from
doing what matters most.
5. 04.Don't eat poorly
Your health is
paramount and goes
without saying that the
choices we make in
what we put in our body
can impact us more than
our 20-year selves. A
simple awareness of
looking after our bodies,
can not only extend life
but will give you more
energy.
6. 05.Don't get
comfortable
Here is where after 3-6-12
months of transitioning
from an executive role we
create the habits that can
shape how active we
choose to be. Each week,
pick something completely
new and unexpected to do
that challenges your
comfort zone.
7. 06.Don't stop being
curious
More than anything, don't
stop being curious. Live
and look for opportunities
to learn, wonder and
explore. Many executives I
know, make a note to
wonder and imagine more.
Then take action to bring
those things into reality.
What would that be for
you?
