Reducing disruption
We work closely with customers to deliver solutions to fit any size or complexity of project without long project timescales, letting
your business get back to work quickly. Our materials and installation processes are practical and efficient. Most containment
systems can be designed and built offsite, so the installation process is remarkably fast compared to traditional systems. In fact,
almost all installations are non-reportable to the Health and Safety Executive, saving you time and resources.
Traditional concrete bund systems take up to 15 weeks to build and require heavy, disruptive vehicles and equipment. By
contrast, our solutions can be installed in as little as a day, keeping your costs to a minimum. Capture Green solutions are easy
to maintain and built to last, so capital costs and ongoing costs are low.
Our services and solutions help our customers comply with environmental regulations. Our low-impact materials and installation
techniques, and methods for preventing and containing spills lower our customers’ carbon footprint. Innovative smart technology,
used in many of our solutions, captures pollutants more effectively and enables a more environmentally friendly means of
disposal. Activity on site is reduced and the need for heavy materials such as concrete reduces.
Our proven solutions are designed to contain potentially hazardous incidents quickly and without any risk of pollutants migrating
into the environment. It means any issues can be resolved quickly and cleanly, and service disruptions can be avoided without
placing excessive pressure on alternative resources. And once in place, our solutions are proven to meet the highest regulatory
standards, so spills or leaks can be contained quickly and with little disruption to your business and your customers.
6. 6. Secondary Containment

Capture Green composite bunds are
ideal for retro-fitting in sites where
health and safety is paramount, such
as locations where high-voltage
lines are present. Our composite
bunds are strong but lightweight,
corrosion and fire resistant and non-
conductive.
They can be installed in as little
as one day because they can be
partially manufactured offsite, and
the mechanically and chemically-
fixed joints require minimal curing
time.
Capture Green designs steel
containment solutions to
accommodate the shape of your
transformer, including the cables
and cooling elements- ideal for
new-build sites or sites undergoing
refurbishment. Smarter than
traditional systems, they are fully
fabricated off-site using thick steel
sheet that is treated to ISO12944
standards. They are easy to install,
and can be in place within a
day, complete with integrated fire
suppression and water remediation
systems. But there’s no compromise
on seal strength or safety.
Tailor-made for both indoor and
outdoor applications, our steel
bunds are modular with interlocking
elements for easy scalability.
Capture Green uses high-tensile,
chemical-resistant liners for this
below-ground bund system. Heat-
sealed and fitted below the stone,
our liners are watertight and allow for
water to drain to a pre-determined
drainage point where our oil-reactive
systems are fitted.
These UV resistant liners are
manufactured offsite and delivered
as a finished product, enabling vast
containment areas to be constructed
without concrete. Where a concrete
system takes up to 15 weeks to
build and requires heavy vehicles,
our impermeable liner systems
can be installed within a week and
require less maintenance than
conventional concrete.
Our liners are easily adaptable to site
specifications and are fully tested
and supplied with quality assurance
and testing documents.
Our temporary containment systems
are often used for the temporary
storage of large and medium-
sized oil-filled transformers. They
are suitable for outdoor or indoor
use, easy to assemble and low-
maintenance, and can be custom-
built to suit your requirements.
Capture Green’s temporary
containment systems are compatible
with all Capture Green water
remediation systems and are made
using a highly chemical-resistant
geo-membrane.This provides an exit
route for surface water run-off while
preventing oil from leaving the site.

8. Water Remediation
Our solutions do not simply separate contaminates from water.
They filter all water, using our unique smart technology to remove
contaminates to non-detect levels. Our smart filtration technology
allows surface water to drain unimpeded, but permanently
captures hydrocarbons, removing contaminates to non-detect
levels and shutting off automatically in the event of a catastrophic
breach.
Our smart filtration technology will enable you to exceed compliance and ensure no pollutants
leave your site. Traditionally, the removal of pollutants from water has relied on the use of the
industry norm: oil/water separators. But these aren’t always effective, especially in conditions
such as flooding. Capture Green water remediation solutions are more efficient, contain no
mechanical parts and block hydrocarbons altogether.

Capture Green’s Water Remediation
Chamber (WRC) captures
contaminates that are often found in
surface water that’s discharged from
secondary containment or drainage
systems.This system contains a
variety of smart filtration media to
remove contaminates from water.
Regardless of its size or function, the
filtration chamber is a sealed unit that
is not affected by flooding. It means
that accumulating hydrocarbons
within the system are unable to
overflow or backflow, making this
system ideal for use in flood risk
areas. The system is highly versatile,
constructed to class 1 full retention
oil/water interceptor BS guidelines,
and to the specifications of your site.
It’s easy to service, and can be used
in new-build locations or retro-fitted
to existing systems.
The Capture Green Hydrocarbon
Removal Filter (HRF) can be
used in electrical substations or
anywhere that rain water runs off
potentially contaminated sites. It
not only removes hydrocarbons
from surface water, but also
shuts off when overwhelmed with
contaminants. In other words, it
works as a hydrocarbon ‘stop valve’
for your secondary containment
applications, so that there’s no way
oil can make its way into drainage
systems and rivers.The HRF is
Environment Agency-approved for
use on containment systems around
transformers, and its technical
capabilities are fully approved by
Bureau Veritas. Ideal for smaller
sites, it can be scaled up or down
according to the flow rates required
for your specific project.
The Hydrocarbon Removal Cartridge
(HRC) allows accumulating water to
flow from your containment system
while retaining pollutants, preventing
them from entering the environment.
The HRC also shuts down if
overwhelmed with hydrocarbons,
preventing any flow from the site.
Compatible with all Capture Green
containment systems, the HRC
can be custom built according
to your needs. Also approved by
the Environment Agency for use
with containment systems around
transformers, the HRC is the
design standard with companies
such as EDF Energy and London
Underground.
The Oil Specific Polymer Geo-
membrane (OSPG) is a basic
geotextile made from recycled
synthetic materials. But its unique
properties mean the product offers
a revolutionary solution to pollution
control. When surface water flows
through it, the membrane removes
100% of the hydrocarbons from
the water retaining them within the
bund, preventing pollutants from
entering the environment. The
membrane works perfectly with
an impermeable liner to create
secondary containment around
transformers, for example, and is well
suited to below-ground sites. With
a long life-span and UV resistance
of 70%, the technology is used in
many of our products and solutions.
It offers multiple benefits to your
business and the environment, not
least that spills are easily contained
and pollutants can be disposed of
quickly, safely and cost effectively.
CAN BE USED WITH TRADITIONAL
CONCRETE BUNDS.

“We are always seeking to find innovative
ways to protect the environment against
any pollution, such as the development of
the Green Rhino filter bag in partnership
with Capture Green. We are the first utility
to adopt the filtering of any water pumped
from excavations as standard practice.
Green Rhino technology is being deployed
by UK Power Networks on street works to
benefit the company, our customers, and the
environment. Before the introduction of Green
Rhino it was accepted practice to pump water
out of a street-works hole and discharge to
a grass verge, if available, or down the street
if not. If the water was heavily contaminated
with oil and/or sediment, the company would
have to arrange for a tanker to pump out the
water and take it off site for disposal at a cost
of approximately £1,000.”

12. 12. Fire Suppresion
Suitable for retro-fitting to existing sites and for new build
sites, this system removes the heat source, fuel and oxygen
from the fire. Compatible with all our containment solutions,
the fire extinguishing baffles are made from galvanised sheet
metal. They allow the oil to transfer through engineered voids
where the oil is starved of oxygen. Protective walkway panels
can be fitted over the system for access to the transformer.
Independently verified and tested, Capture Green’s Fire Suppression System instantly contains
and extinguishes fire on site within three minutes. This greatly reduces the impact of a fire and
pollution related risk, keeping any potential outage, damage and cost to a minimum.

13. Leak Diversion .13
The Leak Diversion System can eliminate oil migration from most leaking
transformers, whether they are contained within bund systems or not.
It does this with a series of bespoke oil trap diverters, which Capture
Green designs specifically for each leak point. It’s quick to deploy and
can be used for managing leaks long term, or while waiting for necessary
maintenance.
The Capture Green Leak Diversion System (LDS) prevents fluids leaking from transformers. It not
only stops oil from entering the bund or surrounding environment, but also enables the oil to be
recovered, recycled and reused.
Stop transformer leaks
before they become costly problems
14. 14. Creosote Containment
The Creosote Pole Bund System is an innovative
secondary containment solution by Capture Green. It
helps store creosote-impregnated distribution poles in
compliance with strict regulations, without exception. It
can be designed according to your site’s requirements
and location, is quick and easy to install and offers
significant safety benefits. The system is installed at
far-reduced costs than traditional reinforced concrete
bunding, and our rapid implementation reduces your
carbon footprint and any urgent compliance needs.
We are working with our customers and the Environment Agency to pioneer new solutions for
creosote containment. Take control of creosote containment by using our innovative smart bund
system. Eliminate the discharge of toxins into the ground, creating a safer, cleaner environment,
helping you meet your ISO 14001 obligations.

18. 18. Green Rhino Pollution Prevention & Control Products
Green Rhino Dewatering Pack
Green Rhino®
products are a low cost, low carbon and lightweight alternative to costly, inefficient
conventional methods of dewatering and filtration, such as vacuum lorries. Green Rhino can
be stocked on site for quick deployment. This reduces administration and downtime when
processing contaminated water, or surface water built up in bunds, interceptors or for mobile
operations when working around oil filled cables.
Green Rhino - bringing innovation to dewatering and
filtration for a low carbon, low cost future
Use this dewatering pack instead of a vacuum tanker when pumping out bunds or mobile
excavations
Traditional spill care products work by absorbing hydrocarbons, much like a sponge, but the smart technology in Green Rhino®
products is far
more advanced. Potentially hazardous and polluting hydrocarbons are retained and ‘locked’ into the smart technology, completely eliminating the
risk of pollution entering the environment. That’s why these simple spill care products are an effective alternative solution to traditional vacuum
lorries and other mechanical processes.
This system removes hydrocarbons such as cable oil,
transformer fluid, oil, diesel or petrol. When added to
contaminated water, the dewatering ‘pillow’ - which
contains our unique smart technology - transforms liquid
contaminates into a dry, rubber-like solid. This way, they
can be easily collected and disposed of. The system
includes a sealable container with 5, 10, or 15 pillows, 5
oil-detection strips, and an oil and sediment filter which
pumps the water away.

EVAC Filtration System
The Green Rhino EnviroPad
works differently to drip trays,
plant absorbent pads and other
site mats. It incorporates a smart
membrane containing our unique
smart technology. This captures
and retains spills and drips from
workplace activities such as pumps,
generators, saws and other petrol-
filled machinery. Where other
products absorb these pollutants
like a sponge which can leak when
saturated, the EnviroPad locks
them in with its smart technology.
All oil and other hydrocarbons
are contained as a non-leaching,
dry, rubber-like mass, which can
be easily disposed of in standard
hazardous waste bins. The
product significantly reduces the
risk of pollution leaking into the
environment. It’s also more cost
effective, smaller, lighter and easier
to use. We can manufacture these in
a bespoke sizes, ideal for temporary
storage of transformers.
Used by UK Power Networks as
standard, this product is ideal for
mobile operations where pumping
activities take place. It removes oil
and sediment, retaining up to 20kg
of sediments and 2.5l of oil sheen.
It connects to your pump using a
simple cable tie. The filter is easy
to empty, wash and re-use, and
offers a highly effective solution for
preventing oil and sediment from
entering the environment.
This system allows for very high
volumes of water to be processed
through Green Rhino Filter
Systems. The system, which can
be designed to meet the specific
needs of your site, allows multiple
Green Rhino filters to be attached
to high-volume pumps. It reduces
and disperses water load while
allowing for adequate filtration, and is
constructed with chemical- resistant
fittings that can withstand high water
pressure.
Ideal for industrial water pumping
operations such as removal of
solids and oil within manholes,
bilges, tanks, and chambers
ready for discharge to foul sewer.
Manufactured in the UK by Capture
Green for the European market,
this product is a market leader and
can be bespoke to fit your specific
dewatering needs. Our standard
EVAC has been designed as a
“single person lift” product, retaining
20kgs of sediment when full.
