2. Outline…….
• What’s different between hardware and software
• What is cpu?
• Who are company that make cpu
• What are the main components of a CPU
• Fan effects over cpu?
• How ram work with cpu
3. WHAT’S DIFFERENT BETWEEN HARDWARE AND
SOFTWARE
• Computer hardware is any physical device used in or with
your machine, whereas software is a collection of code
installed onto your computer's hard drive. For example, the
computer monitor you are using to read this text and the
mouse you are using to navigate this web page are
computer hardware.
• Computer software is programming code executed on a
computer processor. The code can be machine-level code,
or code written for an operating system. An operating
system is software intended to provide a predictable and
dependable layer for other programmers to build other
software on, which are known as applications.
4. DEFINITION - WHAT DOES CENTRAL
PROCESSING UNIT (CPU) MEAN?
• The central processing unit (CPU) is the unit which performs
most of the processing inside a computer. To control
instructions and data flow to and from other parts of the
computer, the CPU relies heavily on a chipset, which is a group
of microchips located on the motherboard.
5. • Two companies are going to create a CPU . They’re
intel and AMD , but first we should know something
here, its not stipulation that two processors are
having the same size and speed, for example both
both processors have the 2.4gz from two different
companies
WHO ARE COMPANY THAT MAKE CPU
6. WHAT ARE THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF A CPU
The CPU has three components:
• Control Unit: extracts instructions from memory and decodes and
executes them
• Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU): handles arithmetic and logical operations
• Register: CPU also include registers, which are temporary memory for
immediate value from calculations and instructions.
7. • Arithmetic Operations(÷,×,+,-) This refers to bit addition and subtraction.
Although multiplication and division are sometimes used, these operations are
more expensive to make.
• Logical Operations: These include AND, OR, NOT, XOR, NOR, NAND, etc.
EXAMPLE FOR ARITHMETIC LOGIC UNIT
8. • Control unit: coordinates
and controls the other parts
of the computer system.

2. %temp%

10. HOW RAM WORK WITH CPU?
• RAM works in conjunction with the central processing
unit (CPU). If RAM is the temporary memory, you can
think of the CPU as the brain of the computer.
The CPU chip retrieves data from the RAM.
11. FAN EFFECTS OVER CPU?
• CPU fan is the fan installed on CPU,
which is used to cool
the CPU preventing it from heating or
causing CPU damage.
