Personal statement:
I have been involved in the early childhood industry for 19 ½ years and in that time I have
gained many administrative and accounting skills. As I move out of the industry I am
looking for a position where I can not only use these skills but also gain the opportunity to
enhance and add to the skill and knowledge set that I have, bringing this into another role
that will not only further enhance my knowledge but also to bring another perspective to
other companies. I also enjoy learning new skills and have had the opportunity to learn
different databases in my roles.

advertising purposes. Recruiting and training staff. Writing policies and making sure that

Personal attributes – Reliability, in the past two years have only had 4 sick days and
although I live out of town have always arrived at work on time and sometimes at short
notice. Time management, have had a previous position where I have been sole charge
and had to make my own appointments and schedule my own time, making sure that all
relevant paperwork is received to support office on time. Reports have also needed to
filed to an outside source so that the services can receive funding, these have needed to
be filed on a regular basis and to a deadline. Honesty, as government funding is
accessed in the Early childhood industry all relevant documentation needs to filed out
correctly and honestly or the service can be in breach and be asked to reimburse the
funding it has received. Team player, as I have worked many years with others it is
important that as a team we all work together to make sure that the company runs as
smoothly and efficiently as possible, this includes supporting each other and utilising each
other’s strengths as well as supporting what we all need to work on. Quick learner, as I
have been involved in different companies I have learnt not only new skills and strengths
but also new software and computer programmes.
3. Computer skills - I have been involved in using many different software programmes over
the years and have enjoyed the challenge of learning different ones. I have used both
Apple and Microsoft software including Office and I have attended a short course in Excel.
I have also used MYOB and Cashbook software. APT and INFOCARE are also other
databases that I have used and a previous employer created their own software called 3B
that we were trained to use.
