Rayshaun discusses how various experiences through the IRSC program have impacted his outlook. Doing yoga and outdoor games with others helped him view school work more positively. Working with a colleague named Miriam and being part of a NASCAR group impressed him with their skills and improved his own. 4 weeks really impressed me

3. SantiandMichelle:YogaandBigbooty
As you all know, during our breaks throughout the day we either get to do Yoga, or when
Michelle was here we would do games like “Big Booty, or other games she knew. When playing
games, I felt free and it was very fun. Yoga allowed me to sort of leave a stressful
mindset and instantly feel better. This is what we need more at Eastside. #Alot So, when
school starts I plan to do either yoga or a great game involving a lot of people just so
other people can experience the wonderful feeling I get when doing these activities. By
doing these activities, it will allow us to view work as something positive and not so
negative.

4. Quizlet,DropboxandKiva
Going to Quizlet, was like an eye-opener for me because I was able to understand that you
can have a career in Education but work in the Technology and Business field. I always
thought that if I did something in Education, I could only teach or do research. Now I
know I can do that and more. Dropbox and Kiva even further proved this point.
- Ryan, from Dropbox is able to work at a tech company and still use his teaching
skills when the times calls (Like when we came to tour the company!). Lance who has a
degree in Education and Psychology, is able to work at Kiva as a office manager and
sometimes as a Mediator to talk to. #ThatsCool

5. TheColleague
In the beginning of the program, Miriam really impressed me when asking questions to
companies, since she knew stuff about companies, that I did not even know. She would be a
very good person to be on a team with because she can deliver what she is trying to say
very well.
- Like I’ll be thinking about something I’m planning to say but before I say it out
loud I usually have to think about it. Miriam can do this faster than me and say
something in the exact way I wanted to say it, and I wish I could do that too.

My NASCAR group also really impressed me when working
together with them because I had never done an activity
like that before and we did very well together.

7. Conclusion
● Doing activities like Yoga and other games, led me to think that work at
school doesn’t have to be so stressful
● Going to companies like Quizlet, Dropbox and Kiva let me know that career
opportunities in Education were endless
● Miriam, My NASCAR group and others really have impressed me while being in
this class
