Well done guys! Sorry I could not be there to support you in the final phase, but hopefully the groundwork was laid in
getting everything to the first LD cut-off last summer.
Echoing Ravi’s comments, the U/G exercise was a very good example of how the disciplines can and should work closer
together. To my knowledge we have never had to produce anything like this before, and I hope the exercise has given each
discipline a better understanding and appreciation of the problems facing the other disciplines in putting together a
complex site like this. Closer cooperation as early in the design process as possible enables us to resolve common interface
issues, save time and money, and also hopefully make the whole project experience a bit more enjoyable, particularly in the
face of a client like Sini, and Marco in particular!
Hopefully it has also been enlightening for the area and project management, in understanding just what is involved in
putting together a detailed design like this from the Civil perspective. Apart from being at the end of the project
‘production line’ in terms of available (and very occasionally ‘frozen’!) data, there were 6 separate layers of site layout
required (earthworks, roads, drainage, piling, foundations and finally the UG composite). On top of that every individual
steel structure, concrete structure, foundation, pipe support and sleeper had to be analysed and designed.
I’m aware that the other disciplines also have their own issues in successfully completing the complexities of their scopes,
also in the face of a difficult client and project resourcing. Again, well done everyone.

I am very happy to share the attached letters received from SINI regarding the result of UG composite review.
The UG composite drawing was the most difficult deliverable of this project.
It includes all UG facilities of Civil, Mechanical, piping, LP, Electrical & Instrumentation.
The UG composite was managed by Civil team by taking input from other disciplines. Well done, Vishal & team……
I should mention the names of Ramasamy, Siyad, Subaraj , Noel Watiwat for their excellent contribution
