Geo-hydrology for Civil Engineering
1. Why is Geohydrology important for civil engineering ?
Geohydrology is the most promising branch of geology
in terms of operational use of geological information.
Hydrogeology deals with how water gets into the
ground (recharge), how it flows in the subsurface
(through aquifers) and how groundwater interacts
with the surrounding soil and rock (the geology).

8. Sources of groundwater is the rain. The rainwater and water
from other sources such as rivers, lakes and ponds, seeps through
the ground and fills the empty spaces between the soil and the
rocks below the earth.
What are the main types of groundwater?
Four different types of geological formations of groundwater :
Aquifer. Aquitard. Aquiclude. Aquifuge.
