Storage and Retrieval System.
 It provides an effective means of anonymous
information storage and retrieval.
 It is Decentralized system which allows the users
Peer-t0-Peer connection across the system.
 Interestingly FREENET is the 2nd most Popular Darknet
/ Deepweb website.
What is FreeNet..?

3.  User’s / Clients can add data into the server as well as
can retrieve the required data from the server.
 It follows a adaptive pattern usage which makes it
more efficient than the other Anonymous systems.
 It is provides a routing network through out the
servers without knowing location.

 Install main application i.e., Freenet (open source)
From your default browser(i.e; Edge, Chrome,
Firefox,Bing) go to:- freenetproject.org
 It can run only in Windows , Linux , MAC OS
 We can connect it in “Secure Mode” or “ Insecure
Mode” according to user usage.
 System Specifications: 1GHz processor and 1GB of
RAM , 256MB plus 400kB for every 2GB of datastore.

connects to other nodes running the same software.
 Freenet not only transmit data between nodes but
actually store them.
 Some nodes are end users from which documents are
requested. Other nodes serve only to route data.
 Data is dropped if it is not retrieved for some time.
Data can be removed only when it is dropped by a
node.

being fetched or which is estimated to serve it faster.
 There are four types of keys in Freenet:
1) CHK – Content Hash Key
2) SSK – Signed Subspace Keys
3) USK – Updatable Subspace keys
4) KSK – Keyword Signed Keys
