Programme Update
OUR ALUMNI
( Manaaki and Non Manaaki)
.
OUR ALUMNI
( Manaaki and Non Manaaki)
 We have the largest manaaki alumni cohort globally at around 750
nationwide alumni of the past and present NZ Scholarships Programme
(data only recorded from 2006) and up to 120 new potential members per
year, with representation from across the archipelago.
 Non Manaaki Alumni: INSPIRASI, LPDP and Self Funded Alumni
 Indonesian alumni have established many separate small groupings not
well interconnected or organised in a meaningful way.
 We recognise our alumni and people-to-people connections therefore we
need to be making a strategic investment into strengthening our alumni
engagement
 NZ launched NZ strategic alumni in 2021-2026:
 Manaaki Scholar and Alumni Events Fund (SAEF)
 Manaaki New Zealand Alumni Community Projects Grants
Our Alumni Continued…….
 Number of Alumni Champions that we might not be aware
 No comprehensive data about our alumni before 2006;
especially the Non Manaaki Alumni
 Indonesian alumni have established many separate small
groupings so might not well interconnected or organised in a
meaningful way.
 We hear a lot of good works done by alumni; Geothermal
groups regular catch up; NZID Group; etc.
 Challenging for NZ Embassy to maintain a functional alumni
network.
 No cohesive national alumni network due to sporadic and
diverse nature of existing small alumni groups
 no information about community projects or volunteering led
by these small alumni groups.
 lack of understanding about Indonesian alumni needs and the
expectations of alumni, and
