confirm that they have a ride home from the program. On the last day, make sure all participants have all the
crafts they have created throughout the program and thank them for participating in the program.
Program Evaluation Method:
(SEE ATTATCHED PARTICIPANT OBSERVATION REPORT)
This program will be evaluated through observation of each participant during the activities. Participants will be
evaluated based on their ability to complete certain tasks in the activities and how well those tasks are
performed. The participants’ involvement and satisfaction in the activities will also be evaluated and put into a
daily report for each participant. All observation and daily reports will be done by the staff and activity director.
Daily reports will be completed immediately after program wrap-up and will consist of levels of functioning in
each domain, perceived satisfaction at the beginning and end of the activity and overall involvement throughout
the activity. After the end of the program, all of the daily reports will be compared and evaluated. Desired
results for each individual participant in the program will be an increase in fine motor and physical skills, and
an increase in participation and satisfaction as the activities and overall program progresses.
Disposition Decision Plan:
Overall this program ran smoothly and all the participants seemed to enjoy the arts and crafts activities. The
location of this program was good because it included the residents of Parkdale Manor Care Center. During the
program, there was involvement from most of the participants and those participants were able to complete
majority of the tasks involved in each activity without any assistance.
Things to Continue:
- Hands on arts and crafts activities for senior citizens
- Adaptive paintbrushes and adaptive scissors
- Program location at an assisted living or nursing home
Things to Change/Rethink:
- Allow volunteers to help participants during activities
- Choose less messy activities
- Make activity times an hour instead of 45 minutes to ensure completion of each activity
- Use art and craft kits from S&S Recreation will make program easier and cheaper
- Advertise program better by creating more flyers and distributing them each resident at Parkdale Manor
Care Center, as well as other assisted living homes in the Maryville area
- Program needs to be cheaper in order to gain more participants
- Use recycled or donated materials for some of the supplies in the activities

The participants’ involvement and satisfaction in the activities will also be evaluated and put into a daily report for each participant. All observation and daily reports will be done by the staff and activity director. Daily reports will be completed immediately after program wrap-up and will consist of levels of functioning in each domain, perceived satisfaction at the beginning and end of the activity and overall involvement throughout the activity. After the end of the program, all of the daily reports will be compared and evaluated. Desired results for each individual participant in the program will be an increase in fine motor and physical skills, and an increase in participation and satisfaction as the activities and overall program progresses. Disposition Decision Plan: Overall this program ran smoothly and all the participants seemed to enjoy the arts and crafts activities. The location of this program was good because it included the residents of Parkdale Manor Care Center. During the program, there was involvement from most of the participants and those participants were able to complete majority of the tasks involved in each activity without any assistance. Things to Continue: - Hands on arts and crafts activities for senior citizens - Adaptive paintbrushes and adaptive scissors - Program location at an assisted living or nursing home Things to Change/Rethink: - Allow volunteers to help participants during activities - Choose less messy activities - Make activity times an hour instead of 45 minutes to ensure completion of each activity - Use art and craft kits from S&S Recreation will make program easier and cheaper - Advertise program better by creating more flyers and distributing them each resident at Parkdale Manor Care Center, as well as other assisted living homes in the Maryville area - Program needs to be cheaper in order to gain more participants
