This document provides biographical information about Porus and Alexander. Porus was born in India to King Bamni and raised by his father's right-hand man. Alexander was born in Macedonia to King Philip and Queen Olympia. Both sought to fulfill their ambitions - Porus wanted to unite India while Alexander sought to conquer it. They eventually came into conflict when Alexander invaded India and Porus, now king of his own territory, fought Alexander to defend his land. Though Porus was defeated, he gained admiration from Alexander for his bravery and resistance in battle.
