NATIVE PLACE

Once a philosopher quoted “there is no place in this world warmer than our native land” a decade
past yet it’s true indeed. Today the world is on our fingertips. Just a click and we move to places
we dreamt of. Touch the clouds; climb peaks; even swim through deep trenches. Such a vast
world yet my native land has an enchantment of its own.
My native place is a village in Bankura district, West Bengal. I have been there for 10 long years
after my birth then shifted to the city due to my father’s job requirement. Since then my native
place has been a place where we occasionally visit. Far away from the meddling life of
metropolitan cities, my village has an untold peace of its own. The hypotonic natural beauty,
Vast green stretches of rice fields, clear blue sky, and cool shades of forest trees allure many
people every year. If adventure is our priority, if tranquility from a stressful life is our destination
my native place suits them best. ‘Our surroundings flesh our mind and soul ‘the vast stretch of
natural beauty has seemingly the same effect on the daily life of the people of my native place.
People here might belong to different families of different origins yet all share a common
perspective of life, work hard in cropping and harvesting seasons and enjoy the rest of days with
traditional festivals.
Bankura stands as one of the famous historical places of West Bengal. One can enjoy historical
and cultural architecture visiting here. Some traditional buildings seem rally beautiful and unique
in the art of religious, cultural, and historical significance. They are Jorebangla Temple,
Shyamrai Temple, Radha Gobinda Temple, Madan Mohan Temple, Gum Garh Execution Site,
etc. Joyrambati is famous as it was the birthplace of Sree Sarada Devi who is worshipped as the
Holy Mother by the followers of Sri Ramakrishna
Susunia Hills, Soaring at an altitude of a whopping 1442 feet, is a famous spot in my native
village for indigenous sports like rock climbing and trekking. The entire hill is covered
luxuriously with a rich flora of beautiful shrubbery, majestic trees, and rare medicinal plants.
Last but not the least, perhaps one of the crucial points why this place attracts me the most is my
heredity that once stayed, and at present stays there. No matter how much far I go how many
years I spent outside, it is my native place that has a charm of its own and soothing pleasure. I
feel proud and confident stepping my foot on its soil. It's where I emerged and perforated the
roots that nourished me.
