10. OUR FIRST PROJECT, December 2010, the launch of the label, Port
Harcourt
The full documentary received a sponsorship in 2012 and it went on to
the Film Festival Circuit. It is since then playing in Africa Magic were
millions of people are still watching it and loving it!

12. SANITATION EXERCISES – since 2012
Improve living conditions. Monthly sanitation exercise in partnership
with the Local Government Authority to clean up and
provide adequate litter disposal. The Communities were the exercises
were host are now in the government map for weekly collection of
garbage.
15. SILK-SCREENING Empowerment
Trainings
• 2012 - MARINE BASE, PORT HARCOURT - 12 single mothers were
trained for over a month in the art of making printed garments
using local and easily accessible materials. The women trained are
now working and supporting their children through this job
• 2014 - ORILE, LAGOS – 15 youths from a marginalized Lagos
community we collaborate with, were trained and the best
qualified have been undertaking contracts printing t-shirts for
Kinabuti

18. SUSTAINABILITY AND ECONOMICAL
DEVELOPMENT
As part of our mandate, all our empowerment projects are linked to a work
experience where the best students qualified have the opportunity to put in
practice the new acquired skills and qualify for their first contract.
Some of the youth trained in Orile have been producing our
t-shirt collections since 2014.
19. GARMENTS MAKING TRAINING AND
WORKSHOP
•2013 – RUMOLUMENI, PORT HARCOURT -15 women with no previous
experience were trained for 6 months in international garments production and
traditional wear. All the women received a start-up package including sewing
machine and a shop space where they started working together.
• 2014 – LAGOS – 15 women tailors from different unprivileged communities
around Lagos participated to an international MASTER TRAINING to
upgrade their skills and be able to collaborate and produce with established
fashion houses in Lagos. 4 of them are already working in Kinabuti.
• 2015 – LAGOS – 15 women tailors from different unprivileged communities
around Lagos learned the skills of pattern making and grading (sizing) under
the direction of Parsons School of Design NYC teacher.

24. WORKSHOP BATIK & TIE-DYE
TECHNIQUES
The workshop taught youths the art of tie-dye on fabrics, using antique techniques
of African batik revisited with modern approach.
The workshop represents a vehicle to instigate economical development as the
students qualified for their first contracting job for the Kinabuti label, earning an
income and learning a useful artisanal profession.

Kinabuti produces DARE2DREAM, the entertaining and inspiring
TVshow set to empower university students through
fashion and art.
DARE2DREAM is a reality-series providing a platform for young
Nigerian girls to develop confidence, talents, values and principles
while opening doors for them to build a career.

30. ECOLOGICAL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING
EARTHEN - BADAGRY
The training aims at teaching Earthen building techniques as the basis for a model
of alternative and sustainable development.
BENEFICIARIES: 15 people max with previous cooking business
TRAINER: in collaboration with the Architectural Dept. of the University of
Cagliari (Italy) UNESCO professor
DURATION: 4 months training and construction workshop
JOB CREATION: building of community landscape (see below proposed
render after inspection visit of UNESCO professor)
OBJECTIVE: developing an ecological and sustainable construction
model that uses natural available materials
