Case # 2 Tetanus in Horse
History and Clinical signs: Animal standing in one position, difficulty in
walking, Locked Jaw, Hyper salivation, Stretched neck, Dilated Nostrils,
Ears erected.
Diagnosis: Tetanus
Treatment: Inj ATS(Anti tetanus serum)10ml IM,Inj Amoxivet 25ml
IM,Inj Atropine10ml Inj Xylase 2ml IM.

Case # 3 C-Section in bitch
Bitch brought to the clinic having Dystocia, on proper clinical examination
she was recommended for C-Section.
Procedure:
 The bitch was weighed and given a physical examination.
 Pre-anesthetic medication given and Anesthesia was induced.
 Once the patient was anesthetized .the bitch was then transferred to the
surgical suite.
 Incision was given and Initial evaluation of the uterus was done.
 A pup was removed , uterus was sutured and replaced.
Post-operative Care.
 Antibiotic therapy.
 Soft feeding.

History and Clinical Signs: Off feed, Greenish Diarrhea, Nasal and
ocular discharges
Diagnosis: New castle disease

12. Theriogenology
Case # 5 Dystocia in Jenny(Female donkey)
History and Clinical signs: : Gestation length completed but no Foaling,
Animal dull and depressed.
Clinical Observations: Cervix dilated and relaxed, on vaginal
examination fetus palpable.
Treatment:
 The postural abnormalities of the fetus were corrected.
 The fore limbs were brought to normal posture by grasping the fetus
 Foaling passage was thoroughly lubricated with liquid paraffin and traction
was applied.
 A dead male foal was delivered per vaginally after applying traction.
 The jenny was administered with the following medicines
Fluid therapy,1000ml of Normal saline IV ,Antibiotic Encure 10cc IM
Loxin 10cc I/M

13. Pregnancy diagnosis
During our rotation in Theriogenology clinic I performed several tests
for pregnancy.
Several methods are available to determine if a cow or heifer is
pregnant.
 No return to estrus
• Cow is generally assumed to be pregnant if do not return to estrus
after AI.
 Rectal palpation
• Palpation of reproductive tract
• Immediate result.
• It is usually done between 35 and 65 days post AI
 Ultrasound.
• Simple method of diagnosing pregnancy.
• An accuracy of over 99% can be achieved.

15. CONCLUSION
 UVAS has Opportunities to learn different clinical
cases.
 Exposure to new techniques and means to deal with
the challenges in professional life.
 Theoretical knowledge about management and
treatment extended by performing clinical practices
