Gathering Data from Coupon Offers

Dallas, TX, April 14, 2014 – Qples believes that one of the main challenges for manufacturers has always been distribution.
Several of their clients state that club or wholesale chains would not talk to them until they reached a certain number of
Facebook fans. “Being a social proponent for over 9 years it is exciting to hear that a major retailer is beginning to
understand the correlation between fans and moving product – now how do we use that to propel brands?” stated Brandi
Johnson, Founder and CEO of Qples Inc.
So what would it take for brands to get the attention of those wholesale vendors?
Qples took one of their clients, a nationally distributed snack product, and tested how coupons could really affect social
fan growth. Qples and the brand team collaborated to create a targeted social coupon strategy to grow traffic on their
Facebook page. The project started with approximately 450 Facebook fans and a ton of ideas.
Over the course of the last year, the brand team tested multiple offer types as well as campaign timing, coupon print
maximums, redemption data, and more. Following the guidelines of their strategy, coupons were only delivered from the
brand Facebook page. They did not market offers on their website or pay for banner ads in the past year.
The snack product currently has over 148,000 fans. With each coupon launch, the brand experienced an average of 40% of
prints from new fans. They broke their team goal of over 100,000 fans before the end of Q2-2013. With that
accomplishment, the brand was able to work with club stores and increase brand distribution.
Qples worked with a Texas based snack company who swore that their top coupon print location would be somewhere in
Texas! After this particular brand ran their first few campaigns, Qples looked at their dashboard as a group and realized
that for every campaign, cities in North and South Carolina were their top 1-5 print locations. Texas wasn’t even in the top
10 in some campaigns! The brand was able to take this detailed data about interest in those regions and get additional
distribution in those states.
Coupon data is vital to understanding who is interested in a product and to gauge the intent of online offers. Brand
managers can learn to use the information as leverage when determining future distribution to new areas or to increase
existing distribution levels.
The consumers will tell you where they are and where they would like to see your brand!

Texas wasn’t even in the top 10 in some campaigns! The brand was able to take this detailed data about interest in those regions and get additional distribution in those states.
