2. ABOUT CSR(CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY)
• The Corporate Social Responsibility concept in India is governed by Section 135 of
the Companies Act, 2013.
• Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the idea that a company should play a
positive role in the community and consider the environmental and social impact of
business decisions. It is closely linked to sustainability − creating economic, social, and
environmental value – and ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and
Governance. All three focus on non-financial factors that companies, large and small,
should consider when making business decisions.
• It has to be followed by Every company, Holding company, Subsidiary
Company,Foreign company having preceding financial year net worth greater than
500Crores, Turnover is greater than 1,000Crores and net profit greater than 5Cr.
3. CSR POLICIES OF APPLE INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED
• Promoting education, including special education and employmentenhancing
vocational skills and livelihood enhancement projects; Ensuring environmental sustainability;
• Promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment;
• Promoting healthcare including preventive healthcare;
• Contributing to – or funding – technology incubators located within academic
institutions which are approved by the central government of India from time to time;
• Providing disaster relief under applicable items in Schedule VII of the CSR
Requirements; and
• Providing financial assistance to reputable non-governmental organisations
(“NGOs”) in any of the above indicated areas.
4. CSR KEY ACTIVITIES OF APPLE INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED
• Supporting the Akanksha Foundation in the provision of high-quality education to low-income
communities in Mumbai and Pune through, amongst other things, financial support for teachers.;
• Supporting EnAbleIndia in the provision of high-quality education and training to people with
disabilities across: Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh,
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal through, amongst other things,
financial support for training sessions and awarenessbuilding with disabled communities.
• Supporting Barefoot College in the electrification of rural villages through the use of sustainable
solar energy power generation, the provision of education to the children of these villages, and the
promotion of women’s empowermentthrough the training of “Solar Mamas”. These projects were
carried out in: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Manipur, Mizoram, Odisha, Uttar
Pradesh, and West Bengal.
• Supporting Paperman Foundation of India in the establishmentof a formal environment with the
appropriate tools and health and safety measures in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh for the dismantling
and processing of electronic waste (“e-waste”).
5. • Supporting the Applied Environmental Research Foundation in the conservation
of environmentally-beneficial habitats, in particular mangroves in the Raigad
district, Alibaug, Maharashtra.
• Supporting the fight against COVID-19, under the pre-established category
of disaster relief, with Hunger Heroes through the funding of oxygen
concentrators in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya
Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Telengana, Tripura, and
West Bengal
