3. OUR TEAM IS DIVERSIFIED WITH YEARS
OF TRAINING EXPERIENCE WHICH HAS
PREPARED THEM TO HANDLE ALL TYPES
OF MEDIA BLASTING.
4. •DELICATE ITEMS

•HISTORICAL MARKERS
•HISTORICAL BUILDINGS
•MACHINE CLEANING
•ABATEMENT PROJECTS
•FIRE & SMOKE DAMAGE

ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS
PROTECHS is the LEADER in all types of
media blasting both INTERIOR and EXTERIOR
of facilities. We use MEDIA BLASTING for:
5.
6. PROTECHS staff includes 20 members who are Nationally Certified to use the
TSN STERMIST BINARY IONIZATION SYSTEM
Some viruses and bacteria can live for hours or even days on surfaces.
An environment that has a system in place to help combat the
spread of communicable diseases such as
STERAMIST BINARY IONIZATION TECHNOLOGY
will greatly reduce the spread of these living bacteria’s
when incorporated with a daily cleaning schedule.
Proper Building Maintenance plays a vital part in
promoting the health and safety of building occupants.
Most viruses are spread from person to person
through coughing, touching or sneezing.
7. OSHA REQUIRES ALL
Professional contractors to
follow universal precautions and
treat all human blood and body
fluids as if they
are infected with
• HIV
•HBC
•HVC
•Other Bodily
Pathogens.
PROTECHS Staff is certified by
“The American Standards For
Professional BIO
Technician Institute”
PROTECHS has the expertise
to handle all types of bodily
fluid spills, contaminants, while
remaining focused on the
highest level of service,
keeping everything in
perspective, and maintaining
good mental health in order to
continue being of service to
others.
8. Anyone exposed to or whose job requires the clean-up of human blood, blood
byproducts or other potential infectious body materials must follow
OSHA’s Blood borne Pathogen Standards.
The time has passed for the maintenance staff, teachers,
other employees to clean a spill created by body secretions.
Blood borne pathogens can enter the body through open cuts, skin abrasions,
accidental punctures, or through mucous membranes
(touching contaminated substances and then putting hands
and fingers in mouth or rubbing eyes.)
9.
10. LEAD is HIGHLY TOXIC metal and a very STRONG POISON that was used in
paints, as well as children’s toys. Various other products such as art supplies, gasoline
products, and products manufactured outside of the US and
Canada also used LEAD. Many products we consume are also carried through
LEAD PIPES.
Children are often exposed to lead poisoning from putting items into their mouths or
when lead becomes air borne during construction demolition. The symptoms of LEAD
POISONING are varied because many parts of the body can be affected. Most Lead
Additives were banned by the Government in 1978; however imports still do not impose
the same restrictions put into law by the US Government.
PROTECHS is Nationally Certified to handle
Lead Abatement Projects.

12. Asbestos is a mined product.
It has several good qualities:
1. Strong product
2. Great bounding agent
3. Good insulator
4. Binds well to produce quality
ceiling and wall patches
5. Sound proofing
6. Combats heat exposure.
The product does well if left alone.
The problem with asbestos occurs
when the product becomes airborne.
Asbestos releases tiny fibers that
cause irritate to the lungs and also have
been linked to causing Cancer.
PROTECHS has
19 Indiana State Licensed Supervisors
on staff to handle ASBESTOS projects and
provide clearance documents to the State.
13. With the increasing availability of
consumer information about the
potential hazards of airborne contaminates
the demand for better smelling
HOMES, OFFICES, UNIVERSITIES, AND
HEALTHCARE FACILITIES
has increased exponentially.
14. Noxious odors on restoration and cleaning jobs can be tough to remove. Odors can permeate the
entire job site making it unpleasant place for customers to live and work in.
Sewer Gas; Automobile; Dead Body; Fuel and Fuel Oil Spills; Cooking Compounds (Curry)
Urine; Animal, are just a few that Protechs works on.
Protechs has a wide variety of odor removal solutions for every odor problem, we do not mask
the problem, we locate it, clean it and completely disinfect /sterilize the problem area by State Of
The Art Machines as well powerful-odor destroying chemicals to eco-friendly odor-busters.
15. Tear Gas is used by police and
discharged into homes, or
businesses.
There are TWO main classifications
for tear gas: CS and CN.
CS is considered a Super Tear Gas
and is used more often
than CN Tear Gas.
CN Tear Gas is more toxic and extra
precaution needs to be taken to
remediate the aftermath.
PROTECHS is qualified to handle the
remediation/cleaning of both types.
16. Fingerprint powders are fine powders used in dusting for fingerprints by crime scene investigators
and others in law enforcement. The process of dusting for fingerprints involves various methods
intended to get particles of the powder to adhere to the residue left by friction ridges of the skin.
The powder can be very messy due to its particulate size of less than 10 microns. The powder
adheres to almost anything and can get stuck in almost all nooks and crannies.
It also can cause damage to to surfaces that it comes into contact with. Not surprisingly then,
cleaning up fingerprint powder can be extremely tedious and requires great care.
PROTECHS Technicians are experts in removing all types of fingerprint powders as well
as working discretely to restore the site to its original condition.
17. Fire Extinguisher Residue can create
a real mess to buildings, furniture and
fixtures. It can travel to areas away
from the discharge source through the
ventilation system; through the normal
airflow of a building getting into almost
everything it touches. Most
discharges come from a drastic raise
in temperature; removal of
combustion material or
from vandalism.
18. There are seven common types
of Fire Extinguishers. Two of
them do not have to be cleaned
up after use. These are
Water and Carbon Dioxide.
Carbon Dioxide removes the
oxygen in the area which
suffocates the fire. This material
leaves no residue and is
commonly used in computer
rooms and food storage area.
Very basic wiping is all
that is needed.
19.
20. HALOTRON; MULTIPLE –PURPOSE DRY CHEMICAL- REGULAR DRY
CHEMICAL- FOAM AND PURPLE K DRY CHEMICAL
(POTASSIUM-BICARBONATE).
THESE AGENTS NEED EXTENSIVE RESTORATION PRACTICES APPLIED.
THE RESIDUE FROM DRY CHEMICAL EXTINGUISHERS IS VERY CORROSIVE
WHICH WILL ATTACK METAL AS WELL AS CAUSE DISCOLORATION TO OTHER
MATERIALS IF NOT PROPERLY ADDRESSED.
THE USE OF HEPA AIR SCRUBBING WASHING THE AIR MULTIPLE TIMES PER
HOUR ALONG WITH HEPA VACUUMING IS THE 1ST STEP IN REMOVAL.
ALL AREAS WILL NEED TO BE CLEANED BY A PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION
COMPANY FOLLOWING THE REMOVAL OF THE GROSS CONTAMINANTS.
