Among all the sector’s FMCG sector is the highest
contributor in Indian Economy and towards it’s
GDP.

FMCG is further divided into 3 main
sub-sectors . The following graph
below shows the contribution of each
sub sectors in FMCG.
FMCG got boosted up due to “The Pandemic”
happening worldwide.
1. FMCG Industry growth rate has been on a downward trajectory for the
last three quarters, it is only in the month of February 2020 that we
saw a flattening of growth trend
2. Sales of hygiene products such as hand sanitizers, floor cleaners and
toilet cleaners shot through the roof, the overall FMCG category,
including food and non-food items, witnessed a growth because
people started panic- buying essential products.
Few other main reasons for the growth of this sector are: -
• Young Population.
• Rising income.
• Rising rural consumption.
• Changing lifestyle.
• Availability and accessibility .
Heinz is one of the largest
company in FMCG sector.
Top 5 contributing brands of Heinz are :-
The 2 top most Competitor’s of Heinz are:-
• Nestle is the top and the strongest competitor of
“Heinz”.
• Nestle is having more that 50% market share in FMCG
sector.
• Nestle is the market leader in various categories such
as Infant Cereals (96.5%), Instant Pasta(65.2%), Instant
Noodles (59.5%), White Chocolates and wafers
(62.6%).
• “Kellogg’s is known as the booming breakfast market in
India.”
• The entire Kellogg’s company has total of 38% of
market share
• It has products like Kellogg’s chocos, corn flakes, oats
etc.
Glucon -D is one of the most popular brand of “Heinz”.
Glucon D is popular with every age group and especially with
sportsperson and patients who are in need of something extra.
It is an instant drink available in powdered form to be added to
water. Glucon D has sufficient amount of carbohydrates to meet
energy requirements of a body and is helpful in cooling down body
temperature.
Varieties of Glucon – D offered in the market on the
basis of flavors are shown below .

fastest growing categories with an annual
growth rate of 20-25%. Going by this rate
it has been expected around Rs80-100
crore sales.

Conclusions drawn :-

•Heinz India, a subsidiary of the US-based Kraft Heinz, has a distribution network of
over 800 and over 20,000 wholesalers covering 29 states.
•While , Zydus Wellness has a strong brand equity in the food, nutrition and skin care
markets which will allow “Heinz” to increase their customers.
•Heinz is famous for its organic made ketch-ups, and nowadays people have started to
shift towards organic products whether it is in pharmacy or food.
•Due to this pandemic it is expected that overall sales of “Heinz” will increase .
•Specifically where Heinz is the producer of Nutritional
Beverages and where people are so concerned about
Health, it is expected that company will see a graph is
Upward direction.
