Francisco D'Souza, Chief Executive Officer
The son of an Indian diplomat, Mr. D’Souza is a global citizen
who has lived in nine different countries and traveled to many
others. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration from the University of Macau and his MBA
from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Kumar Mahadeva, CO Founder
Kumar Mahadeva was a Sri Lankan American founder,
chairman and chief executive officer of Cognizant Technology
Solutions. He resigned from Cognizant Technology Solutions
in 2003.

10. 1994:cognizant is set up in 94 with headquarters in Chennai as the technology division of Dun and Bradstreet under the name DBSS and has 75000
employees by the end of the year and post annual revenue is 1.7 million. The team includes Kumar Mangalam, Francisco d’Souja and N. Lakshmi
Narayana.
1997: DBSS is renamed COGNIZANT TECHNOLGY SOLUTION(CTS) and its head quarters moves to Teaneck, new jersey.
1998:Cognizant became the first Indian software services firm to list on NASDAQ. and annual revenue crosses the 50 million.
2003:Founder Kumar Mahadeva RETIRESFROM THE POST,AND Narayan takes his post.
2006: cognizant posts 1 billion in annual revenue for the first time and included on S&P 500,joining the likes of Microsoft and Google.
2007: Acquires MarketRx Inc, a US analytics and life science software firm for 135 million, revenue nearly doubles from
to touch 2 billion
2008: Breaks into fortune 1,000 list
2010: total number of employees hits 100,000 for the first time
2011: cognizant included on fortune 500 list, joining General Motors, Hwellet –Packard and Bank of America. over takes Wipro in terms of
quarterly revenue for the first time
2012: overtakes former Indian sector bellwether Infosys for the first time in quarterly revenue, repeats the performance in the next two quarters.
