M.Tech:
1. Design and Development of Dual Stage Precision Positioning System
A novel dual stage system is developed with stepper motor for coarse positioning and
amplified piezo actuator for fine positioning achieving an accuracy of ±5 microns.
It has great importance in advanced MEMS manufacturing and metrology where high
precision is required over long range.
Laser displacement sensor & LVDT integrated with controller NI-cRIO and NI-DAQs for data
acquisition using LabVIEW are developed to achieve a closed loop control.
Adaptive control and iterative learning control algorithms are implemented to reduce the
positional error of the dual stage system
LM guide ways & ball screws selection for primary stage with industry specified precision
standards in order to improve performance of primary positioning stage.
Developed knowledge to interface various sensing and precision actuating instruments during
course of the project.
2. Design of Self powered remote control switch
Designed and developed a working model to demonstrate concept of battery less remote
control switch as a replacement to conventional electrical switches using piezoelectric
phenomenon.
Wireless switching is implemented using RF transmitter, logic controller making it shock
proof and saving electrical wires connecting switch and device.
The working model won 2nd
prize at national level technical exhibition at Dr AIT, Bangalore.
3. Multilevel Car Parking System by XYZ motion control of platform
A prototype was developed to demonstrate logical operation of car parking considering all
safety requirements and availability of parking slot.
Hardware in loop simulation (HIL) was used to interface various sensors and actuators
satisfying the requirements of multilevel parking system with NI- LabVIEW and ELVIS kit.
3. B.Tech. :
Effective utilization of water in public urinals using hydraulic actuators
Designed and fabricated an eco-friendly hydraulic actuation system for automatic flushing at
public urinals in order to conserve water, easy maintenance for serving in remote areas.
Detailed survey and analysis of water wastage from present flush system adopted at various
public toilets were done and improvement which can be brought by implementing proposed
system is presented.
