2. INTRODUCTION
The International Union for Health Promotion
and Education(IUHPE) is a unique worldwide,
independent and professional association of
individuals and organisations committed to
improving the health and wellbeing of the
people through education ,community actions
and the development of health policy.

3. MISSION
The IUHPE’s mission is to promote global health
and wellbeing and to contribute to the
achievement of equity in health between and
within countries of the world.

4. VISION
The vision of the IUHPE is a world where all
people achieve optimum health and wellbeing.

5. GOALS
The IUHPE aims to achieve the following goals:
• Greater equity in the health of population
between and within the countries of the world.
• Effectives alliances and partnerships to produce
optimal health promotion outcomes.
• Broadly accessible evidence-based knowledge
and practical experience in health promotion.

• High level of capacities in individuals
organisations and countries to undertake
health promotion activities.

7. OBJECTIVES
To achieve it’s goals IUHPE will pursure the
following objectives:
• Increased investment in health promotion.
• An increase in polices and practices that result
in greater equity in health.
• An increase in policies and practices that
influence the determinants of health of
population.

sectors.
• Activities that contribute to the development,
translation and exchange of knowledge for
health promotion.
• A strong universally accessible knowledge
base for effective, quality health promotion.

9. IUHPE ADVOCACY
Advocacy is one of the central strategies of the
IUHPE to accomplish it’s mission and as such has
a potentially large scope under which to work.
