God and His preaching became the foundation of Christianity.

History:
• Jesus Christ is believed to be born to Mother Mary in Bethlehem;
angels announced his birth to the shepherds and the guiding star
showed the wise men the way to the manger of their Lord.
• The name comes from the old English word ‘Cristes Maesse’
meaning ‘Christ’s Mass’ speaking of the Catholic tradition of
arranging special mass ceremony in the name of Jesus.

Decorating Christmas Tree:
• Christmas Trees are put up
everywhere and they are tastefully
decorated with lights, stars, bells and
gifts.

“Symbol of Eternal Life:
immortality”: Legend says that after
the birth of Christ, trees shook off the
snow in winter to look lush green.

exchange gifts with our friends

• Santa Claus is considered as the
legendary figure, the traditional patron
who brings gifts for children.
• Children make secret wishes and keep
socks hanging in the hope of Santa
Claus fulfilling their wishes.
• Santa Claus dates back to 3rd century to
an actual monk named Saint Nicolas.
• According to folklore, Santa comes in
reindeer driven sledge across the snow
during midnight and leaves behind gifts
for the children.
8. How it is celebrated ?
Sharing Meals with family and friends:
• Christmas emphasizes family and spending
quality time with our loved ones.
• Having a meal together strengthens the
bond and love.
• Being the holiday season, Christmas
provides a good opportunity for the entire
family to come together.
• Traditional Christmas meal features turkey,
types of poultry, ham or beef along with
vegetables. Pumpkin/apple pie, raisin
/Christmas pudding, fruitcakes, Plum cakes
are eaten as dessert.
9. My Christmas Celebration
• Once I woke up in the morning , the first thing I did was to open my
Christmas presents.
• I got many things for my Christmas gift. I got a cute doll whom I named
Ivy. I also got a shirt, trouser, a box of cookies, a long badminton and a
book named The Heroes Of Olympus.
• There were cookies and homemade pizza for breakfast.
• I had a great time playing several games like cricket, football,
badminton with my family and friends.
• A delicious Christmas special lunch awaited us at home, after which I
was too full to move.
• In the evening, I went to a bakery, followed by a visit to the church.
• I prayed to the Lord for a happy and peaceful world free from all evils.
10. My Christmas Celebration
• The church was beautifully decorated with
a Santa Claus riding on a sleigh, there
were candles, stars and bells all around.
• I sat and hymned to the tunes of the
carols being sung.
• Later at night, after coming home, I went
to bed with a happy smile and a hope of
all things good things to happen in future.
• I wished so that I can bring more joy and
laughter to the people around me.
