3. Greenfield Site Greenfield sites are areas of rural open land which has never been built on, out of town and usually in the rural-urban fringe. Their advantages over brownfield sites are: 1 – Cheaper Land 2 – More Space 3 – Closer to Motorways 4 – Less traffic congestion 5 – Easier to landscape to create a pleasant environment
