3. The USA
The USA is second on the list. Although the USA is considered to be
the birthplace of fast food, because of the volume of the market, the
average amount of pizza is not big enough to earn USA the first place
on the list. Here is a fact: every second in the USA, around 350 slices of
pizza are eaten.
4. United Kingdom
Pizza is the favourite fast food of the people in the United Kingdom.
Over half of the entire UK consumes pizza at least once in ten days.
The British prefer to eat pizza at the food outlets.
5. Germany
Germany holds the fourth position and why not! It’s a famous fact that
Germans are gourmets. Here, the fast food industry’s pizza segment is
worth around €1,3 billion. In Germany every second a hundred slices
of pizza are eaten.
6. Italy
It is a big surprise that the birthplace of pizza is at the fifth position on
this list of countries that consume the most pizza! An interesting fact is
that pizza became popular the worldover in 1940, when during the
exodus to the New World a large number of Italians migrated to

7. Russia
Russians love to drink and eat a lot. Pizza is becoming more and more
popular in Russia with each passing day. Pizza outlets are famous and
mushrooming in and around Moscow. The traditional version includes
vodka, salmon or tuna (or both), caviar and dill.

France is in third place in Europe in pizza consumption, after Germany
and the UK. French people eat the major amount of cheese in Europe.

on an average. The Japanese version of pizza is called “Okonomiyaki”.
In Japan pizza is ordered for special occasions, and is a part of
celebrations.

Now pizza is gaining popularity over rice, chicken, wontons, and
dumplings in China. Chinese people don’t love the meat-cheese-
topping combination that much but fast food consumption is
increasing in the country.
