Introduction
I consider myself a conscientious teacher who enjoys the job of helping students to learn, not only English,
but also management skills, positive thinking, and developing their cognitive skills; all of which should
help them in their future working lives. I am always striving to better myself and try to learn from other
teacher’s experiences, as well as adapting to my students needs. As an ex-actor, I find this skill also useful
to help portray, deliver, and encourage the use of the language of study.

Professional History
2. Prince of Songkla University: November 2009 - present English lecturer.
Since starting at the Prince of Songkla University, I have taught general English from Elementary up to
Upper Intermediate, which covered the four skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking. The past
several semesters, I have taught English through Drama, which was a course, designed by me to help
enhance the student’s ability to use English more confidently, with a performance at the end, also, English
for Effective Communication, which I wrote as a student based learning course, which uses hospitality and
tourism as the focus of language that is generally used in the industry.
Satree Phuket High School: October2008 – October 2009 English teacher.
I taught general English conversation with M4 to M6 students, which were aged from 16 to 18. The
courses generally followed the Thai approved curriculum, which consisted of the four elements of learning,
as well as grammar, testing, and examinations, which were all written by me.
Rajabhat Phuket University: November 2007- October 2008 English lecturer.
I taught undergraduates general English, which covered listening, speaking, writing with the emphasis on
grammar, verb conjugations, and the different parts of speech. All tests, exams were written by me, which
were approved by the head of the department.
ELT Phuket: September2006-June 2007 English teacher (Weekends).
I taught young students from the age of 7 to 11 general English, which covered simple grammar, speaking
and working on their pronunciation. At the end of the semester, the students gave a performance, which I
was in and help to write and direct. Some of the learning process would use games as to create more
confidence leading up to the performance.
ECC Phuket: November2005- July 2006 English teacher.
I worked as a supply teacher and was based at Bangneaw School in Phuket town, where I taught students
from ages 8 to 12, general English with the emphasis on grammar and speaking. The lessons would
sometimes take on the rote learning style simply to get them to listen and repeat. This was a part time job
and only covered a couple days a week.
Anna’s Language School Phuket: November 2005- October 2007 English teacher.
I taught at five different schools on certain days of the week and in between my part time work and
weekend work I would teach at the other schools. The students’s ages ranged from 7 to 12 and were taught
general spoken English, some grammar and learning through games.
Royal Mail UK: 1999 - 2001
During my time at Royal Mail, I worked my way up through the processing operations and delivery to
become a manager at both levels. As a processing manager on the shop floor, you organize the staff to sort
out the letters, packets that have to go to the delivery offices. I was promoted to delivery office manager
where I supervised the delivery staff and to see they got out on time for delivery.
Freelance Actor: 1982 – 2004
As an actor, I was able to do various jobs; I am a member of the actor’s guild “Equity”, but as the job was
precarious, I had to always seek other employment; which allowed me to pay for my bills.
