BUSINESS INFORMATICS is one of the key areas organizations
depend on for increasing effectiveness and efficiency of their
business as well as gaining competitive advantage.
Business informatics enables organizations to conduct business
transformation by employing digital technology for successful
business process and business model optimization.

• Business Logistics is an interdiscplinary programme with
renowned, award-winning lecturers and researchers from
different fields that have strong ties in research and business
community.

from business and prepares students for a wide array of
employment opportunities by using modern learning methods

10. My work - one sentence summary
How technology shapes businesses – from business models,
technology adoption and business process redesign to decision
support within the processes
(both within single companies, supply chains and public administration)
11. My work - summary
Business process management: the theoretical basis for BPM enhanced by
developing 10 basic principles + several studies of BPM and IS development in
practice including improved understanding of customers‘ processes
Supply Chain Management: optimizing supply chains, measuring the benefits
achieved and the risks arising therefrom (including the knowledge and perception of
top management).
Technology adoption: adoption and impact of various concepts and technologies
such as broadband, telemedicine, e-government and social media
Business analytics: analyzing the impact of business analytics in supply chain
using information support and process orientation as mediators + several cases of
analytics use in practice.
Business models: a theoretical basis for a business model (both in a single
company and supply chains based on the resource based view and transaction
costs economics along with the analysis of how technological progress affects
business model innovation
