14 What were the instructor's strengths?
A:   The professor had a clear interest in the students' learning and understanding, and I appreciated that he
checked in periodically to make sure that students were following his logic. I appreciated his style of
lecturing, most especially that he would review "where we've been and where we're going" at the beginning
of every lecture. It was easy to understand how each lecture fit into the greater context.
  A:   interesting.
A:   Kept the class interesting and funny. Really engages with the students in the classroom.
A:   lots of in field knowlegde
A:   Instructor is technically very savy in the subject material, and will provide help & insight with control
systems if one can reach him. He lectures well.
A:   The instructor had a thorough knowledge of the material, focused entirely on student learning instead of just
grades, and did a good job of teaching the class to both undergraduate and graduate students. The professor
had a good grasp of industry applications, and made sure to highlight mistakes that new engineers often make
in their work so we can avoid making them. The professor connected well with the students without
becoming unprofessional. I liked how he made a point throughout the semester of reminding us what we had
covered to date, what was coming up next, and where we were headed, big picture. The professor recognized
that a takehome exam based on programming would be much more applicable.
  A:   Ego adjustment :)
A:   He was very knowledgeable in the topic and could answer any question asked.
A:   Ego! Dr. Mousavi was engaged in every lecture and interacted with the class heavily, so most students who
wanted to learn the material had no trouble staying interested. He also clearly knows and enjoys the subject,
so that made it easier to learn from him as well. He also shared some useful files for future use, so that was
nice as well.
A:   Best professor at SDSU. The University should lay off 20 vice presidents and use that money to give Dr.
Mousavi tenure and a large research budget before he goes somewhere else and make another university
world renowned.
A:   Making sure students understand what exactly is going on in the problem and in reality.
  A:   delivering information
A:   Engaging, funny, clearly passionate about control systems and genuinely wants to improve students'
understanding of the concepts
A:   Making sure students actually learn and understand the material and it's applications
A:   Very easy to get along with and make a difficult class interesting
A:   Makes what could be a difficult subject fun to learn and applicable to real world #ego
A:   Good knowledge, good energy during class
A:   Went over information on lectures and exams with great detail.

15 In what ways might the instructor improve this course?
A:   The professor makes joking slightly comments frequently, towards students and also towards himself. I
realize that they're jokes, but still think they're inappropriate in a classroom setting. Eliminating those would
improve the classroom atmosphere. In terms of the subject matter, I found it *very* helpful to study when I
expected an inclass exam, even though the exam ended up being a takehome. Whether or not it ends up
being a takehome, I learned a lot from preparing for an inclass exam.
A:   A lab component would be nice to see the integration of software and hardware

  A:   N/A
A:   make sure that the batteries are working on the pointing pen
  A:   not a lot.
  A:   .
A:   Post the notes online just before the final. Don't tell anyone, because I know you want them to pay attention
and show up, but the notes are useful so they would be nice to have for the final.
A:   Might want to try to be a little more accessible out side of class
  A:   no ways.
A:   Make the hot swedes solve problems in front of the class :D just kidding
A:   Instructor should include more examples and assign more homework. This was brought up with him during
class, but he tells students to find their own homework. However, the text does not contain many examples
and the examples do not always relate to the subject matter. The professor should at least recommend more
optional homework problems (He only gave 3 homework assignments the entire semester)
A:   The single biggest improvement would be to ensure the technology he planned to use for lecture would work
better. It slowed our progress, for sure. Although I liked the homework method, I do wish the professor would
have posted solutions so we could check our progress. The professor should consider saving each lecture or
course topic's notes in separate files and posting them on Blackboard for student use. The course finished a
little early; maybe there are a couple more topics or a little more background that could be provided.
