Children develop at different paces and reach major milestones as they develop throughout their early years and as they continue to grow until

Child development and social interaction effects children understanding of social rules resulting in them learning appropriate and inappropriate
behavior, understanding gender, and social class. As children develop and participate in social activities they learn to distinguish males from females
(Siegler & Alibali, 2005). Children learn to connect a male's voice with a male and female's voice with a female. Children develop an understanding
that all people do not look or behave the same. Engaging in centers, children will learn that all children do not share the same beliefs and others have

This semester in Child Development has helped me a great deal. I came into this class wanting to be a Child Development teacher at the high school
level. I am leaving this class with the same ambition to become a Child Development teacher. I have learned so much by taking this class and I know
it will all be helpful in the future once I am standing at the front of a classroom. Also, just by watching the way Mary teaches the class, I have learned
things that I want to take into my own style of teaching.

I didn't exactly agree with how Freud thought, but I let a lot of it slide because his theories were developed a long time ago before all of that stuff
became something we all find to be a perverted way of thinking.
One thing I found especially interesting about the class what when we watched 18 Ways to Make a Baby. It is amazing how far technology has come
and what all we are capable of doing to help unfortunate families wanting to bear a child. I was even able to let my Child Development teacher from
high school know about the video and now it's something she wants to add to her teaching curriculum. It was also fun making the collage. It took
quite some time to do, but I learned so much. I had to go online to look up pictures, and when I did, I stumbled across very interesting information. I
was glad we had choices for the assignment. Everyone learns different; some by reading, some by seeing, some by reading, and some by doing. The
internet assignments were also something that I enjoyed because it gave me the chance to surf the web to learn more about stuff I had learned in
high school. I got to see other people's views and better understand many of the concepts taught in class. I don't really think there were any subjects
that were too difficult for me to understand. Most of what I learned was a review of high school Child Development. The main differences were that

At this age in Janes life, the abuse was at its worse and she would be put into the foster care system at age 7. While in her biological home, Jane
encountered sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Jane was exposed to sexual encounters at a very young age in her life, causing her to lose a sense
of her childhood. She had to become the motherly figure for her younger sister, taking care of her when their biological mother failed to do so. She
was never taught any educational material outside of school, making it hard for her to accomplish any type of academic goal related to her age

environment for the students so they are willing to try and achieve their goals with no criticism. "Life is the curriculum; adaptation is the major
objective; development becomes the teaching process; and the child is the learner at the center of the process" (Allen & Marotz, 1998). Most young
children find the early school years to be enjoyable (Allen & Marotz, 1998). It is up to teachers to make sure the enjoyment a child receives from
school continues throughout their school experience. Teachers need to make learning fun by teaching topics that the children are interested in with a
hands on approach. Children need to be able to communicate and get along well with others to do well in school although they may need some

Engaging in centers, children will learn that all children do not share the same beliefs and others have their own opinion. I came into this class wanting to be a Child Development teacher at the high school level. I am leaving this class with the same ambition to become a Child Development teacher. Also, just by watching the way Mary teaches the class, I have learned things that I want to take into my own style of teaching. I didn't exactly agree with how Freud thought, but I let a lot of it slide because his theories were developed a long time ago before all of that stuff became something we all find to be a perverted way of thinking. One thing I found especially interesting about the class what when we watched 18 Ways to Make a Baby. It is amazing how far technology has come and what all we are capable of doing to help unfortunate families wanting to bear a child. I was even able to let my Child Development teacher from high school know about the video and now it's something she wants to add to her teaching curriculum. It was also fun making the collage. It took quite some time to do, but I learned so much. I had to go online to look up pictures, and when I did, I stumbled across very interesting information. I was glad we had choices for the assignment. Everyone learns different; some by reading, some by seeing, some by reading, and some by doing. The internet assignments were also something that I enjoyed because it gave me the chance to surf the web to learn more about stuff I had learned in high school. I got to see other people's views and better understand many of the concepts taught in class. I don't really think there were any subjects that were too difficult for me to understand.
