Example Of Autobiography In College
I was born in Dayton Ohio we lived there for a year I think then we moved to a different part of Ohio Greenville and from there we moved to
Kentucky and then Pennsylvania and from there Washington then California then back to Washington. See as a kid growing up my dad was in the
cable business we moved so much I never stayed at one school long enough to really make any friends, and it was me my older brother, and little
brother, my little brother really got lucky because when it was time for him to start school we were settled. We lived in concrete Washington I started
my fifth grade there and it was acutely really nice to have friends and be a kid. Then high school came my best friend and a lot of my friends were two
grades ahead of me so...show more content...
We loved living in Portland so much to do with the kids the Saturday market was my favorite. Then I picked up a flagging job I was so board out
of my mind standing there holding a sigh and wondering if that car is going to stop or keep going and hit you needless to say that job was not for
me . I got married at twenty three and was a house wife until both of my kids started school then I worked at a little store for about seven years

the employees then then we feel un appreciated just a big cycle I began to hate that place I started putting applications out at other places. But I did
get this one job that I really wanted until they asked for my high school diploma I was so excited to and I let myself down I knew I made bad

Example Of A Personal Memoir
I was born on a cold October morning, well that is something my mother always told me. Perhaps, that is one of the many reasons why I enjoy cold
days and drinking coffee. I have live my whole life in Chicago, but I do have dreams of moving somewhere else. My family consisted of my father,
mother, and sister, who is my twin, for eighteen years. However, in the past month a newfamily member got added, Toma Heroine Touka, my kitten.
It is a really funny story how she came to be added to my family. It all started when I told my dad "If Germany wins that World Cup, then he should get
me a cat." My dad took it as a joke, but accepted it. Time passed and I saw that I would never get a cat that I can call my own. It was around late
November when

Example Of Autobiography About Myself
Memoir
Everyone has their own stories, no matter it is meaningful or not it is their life and their memories. When I told to write a memoir about languages, I
could not come up about any ideas. So, I ask Professor for help, my Professor told us that everyone has their own stories and it is interesting, because
that is your experiences not ours. People like to hear stories, because it is not their experiences and they want to know what have you been through.
Here are little stories about myself.
I was born and grow up in China, Tianjin, a big city where just an hour away from Beijing. Since my mom wants to give me a better living
environment, and better chance of education; so, we decided to move to US. When I moved to the US in 2012, I was only sixteen years old and
barely spoke any English. Even I had learned English for all my school life in China, I still didn't understand when other talking to me. The new life
was totally different, it was tough and challenging for me. The new language environment and culture differences were giving me a hard time to fit into
this country. When I first came to Chicago; Mother and I went through a great amount of troubles trying to enroll me in a high school. Many schools
turned me down because of my lack of English skills. They wrote me a letter and send me to an ESL class at a community college.
As soon as my mother settled me down in a small apartment, she left me to work in another state. She needs to make money to support me and our
family, so I have no choice to live alone by myself. I was facing the challenge of fending for myself in a totally strange environment, where I didn't
know enough English to ask for help. When I was in China, I never had to cook, shop for groceries, and walk to school. For the first time in my
life, I had to do everything by myself. I had so little money that I could not afford to eat at restaurants every day. Therefore, I had no choice but to
cook for myself. At first, my mother was the only person I can ask for advice. But when it came to practice, it felt ten times harder than it sounds to
me. I remember practicing cutting on potatoes. My left fingers were often wrapped with Band–Aids. But I disregarded the pain and kept practicing it

Essay On Childhood Memories
I've often wondered if my earliest childhood memories really happened as I remembered them or have they been tainted by the telling and retelling
of stories by my parents and grandparents. Someone seems to always claim, "I can remember when I was in the nursery." Not to be outdone,
someone else goes one better, "I remember when I was born." Really? Can one remember those early events or are they figments of their imagination.
I'm speaking of the average Joe or Jane, not those who possess special mental "gifts" that the average person isn't blessed with. Take me for instance
as the average Joe, the average Jack, actually.
One of my earliest memories was riding my new tricycle into the Christmas tree. I vividly remember the tree...show more content...
Here's another example: As the "story" goes, I inserted one of Mom's metal bobby pins into an electrical plug and blew the "whole building's circuit."
At the time, we lived in a row of two–story apartments, maybe six or eight to a row. Sounds plausible but even I don't believe my memories of this
story any more. I doubt that the entire building was fed off a single circuit, but it was post–WWII, cheap housing, so anything's possible.
I'm sure, however, that I did put a bobby pin in a wall plug, received a nasty shock, and likely blew that particular circuit, but the "whole building?" I
can't buy that "embellishment" anymore. I'm glad the story wasn't retold too many more times – I would have caused a blackout of the whole Niagara
Falls power grid.
My true recollections of the incident are sketchy at best – a few sparks, a jolt of electricity, and pain. The rest of the events and the commotion that
followed were not my memories but those of the storytellers imprinted on me creating a cohesive memory of my first encounter with electricity. I was
about 30 months old when I discovered the power and love of electricity.
Here's an early event that I always swore is a true memory, but now decades later, I wonder how much is truly mine and how much is my Dad's
telling of the story. He was a great storyteller, and I heard his retelling of this story often. Dad's

Example Of Sociological Memoir
Sociological Memoir Growing up may not always be easy but you learn a lot about yourself through the journey. In my first year of elementary school,
one of my friends was getting bullied by a boy. He would push her down after recess and make her feel really bad about herself. It got to the point
where he would do it every single day and I got sick of it. I had to step in and stand up for her, so I ended up yelling at him for being mean to her. I
never gave up for her. He was surprised that I stood up for her because no one else did. I never realized why he was being mean to her until I got older
because he was white and she was black. He was being mean to her because of her race and gender. (November 13).
Even though that was twelve years ago, there still is gender inequality regarding the gender pay gap. Women today are still not making as much as
men. Today, on average a woman earns 78 cents per dollar earned by a man. (O'Brien, 2015).
I grew up in a middle class family where both of my parents worked everyday of the week. My parents taught me to always be grateful for what I have
and for the opportunities that I receive. When I was in high school, I tried out for the Districts in Band on my clarinet. I would practice everyday for
two hours for five months in order to be prepared. There was so much build up before the audition that I was nervous and wanted to give up. Since my
parents were paying for private lessons with my

My reading experience has had a lot of ups and downs. I was never an over–achiever in my language arts or reading classes, which has affected my
passion for reading. A lot of my opinions about reading have changed even just since this summer. I don't have any recollection ofreading before
kindergarten except for learning the letters. Kindergarten was a struggle for me, but after kindergarten to third grade. In third grade I peaked and
absolutely loved reading and writing, but it faded in middle school and has been fading since then for me.

still did because I always have boring essays because I don't remember the words we learned. I wouldn't say that I disliked reading yet in middle school.
I'd even say the most exciting part of middle school would be reading The Hunger Games with Mrs. Young, especially since she was kind of a nerd and

I was eight or seven, I lived in Gallup New Mexico at the time. One day in the summer my mother, cousin and I decided to visit our uncle Paul. He
was an older man but very athletic he had his own home gym in his basement. When we got to his house he and my mother sat and had a grown–up
conversation, me and my cousin Jerry decided to go explore the basement. In our uncle's basement, he had four rooms. One had a huge pool table,
another one was filled with weights and matts for yoga, the third one we never went into because the door was always locked. And the fourth, this

Memoir- Losing my best friend
Memoir– Losing My Best Friend I remember everything as if it were yesterday. The shock, the sadness, the pain, and the sickness she had to suffer. I
remember sitting beside her, holding her hand as she had IV's put into her arms. I remember the conversations we had; she'd explain to me how she
just wanted to go outside again; she'd be enthusiastic for the day she got out of the hospital; we made plans for when she beat cancer. Two years have
gone by so fast, and there hasn't been a day I haven't thought about her. My day was going on like any other day; everything was the same until the
phone rang. I picked up the phone and all I heard was crying on the other end. I instantly got worried and asked frantically what was wrong, but the

weeks after, the overall vibe was different. The vibe from walking in, her parents, the nurses...something was different. I couldn't figure it out, and
I didn't figure it out until I got into Hunter's room. I walked in to see her standing there, waiting for me with a warm and bright smile on her face.
My smile grew so wide my cheeks hurt, and tears of joy ran down my cheeks. I ran over to her and pulled her into a hug, and for that moment,
everything instantly became better. Then that moment ended. About a week later I got a call from her parent explaining the day before she was
supposed to go home she had another seizure. I didn't get to see her for another couple months though. When I got to visit her again, eleven months
had passed since the diagnosis. When I walked into her room the vibe felt like a punch in the face, it was just awful. The vibe was like a thick fog,
clouding up the room with pain and sickness, altering reality. With every step into the room I took the room got darker and greyer. When I saw her, I
knew that death was coming for her. She had gone from the beautiful green–eyed blonde I knew to a

Argumentative Essay Of A Memoir
I think the easiest paper to write is the memoir. A memoir is a personal essay about a significant memory in someone's life. This essay is more
personal; therefore, the author can choose how to build his memory. Also, through a memoir the reader can see part of the authors past by using vivid
detail.
An augmentative paper I think is harder to write because it needs a lot of details to create a good paper. First an argument has to be developed, then a
claim is needed to support the argument, and finally a refuting argument should be included. This are only part of the requirement needed for an
augmentative essay. What's more important is the evidence, it has to be chosen wisely.
Ii believe that the paper that is most used in college is writing

If You Knew Then What I Know Now Analysis
Memoir essay is a story telling of a person about significant memory in his life, by using appropriate structure and vivid images. The two essays which
are the perfect example for memoir essay would be "If You Knew Then What I Know Now" by Ryan Van Meter and "Physical Evidence" by Kelly
Grey Carlisle. The two essay are really good not just because they have great contexts that attract readers, but they also use Aristotelian appeals, tension
building, and non–linear chronology to polish their essay. The first common thing about the two essays is that both authors rely heavily on pathos and
ethos to tell their story. In Meter's essay, he uses ethos in order to persuade the readers to listen to his advice because he had been through all of...show

In "Physical evidence" Carlisle tells a story that would make everyone pauses and thinks about it for a minute because it is very horrifying and
very sad. Her story is special, not many people have experienced that in their life. While in "If You Knew Then What I Know Now", Meter has a
story that is very relatable. A story about bullying can happen to anyone, also he tells it in a very different way, which can make the reader put
themselves in Meter's position. Both of the two memoir essays are very attracting because it is very real. It is what actually happened to somebody,
which give them the advantage to tell it in a vivid way. Everyone loves to write about themselves; they all want to share their story. That is why
memoir is a very popular form of creative

I'm sure many have shared stories of their high school experiences and can relate when I say those four years have taught me many lessons. During this
time, I'd come face to face with the fraudulent friendships, temporary romances, and other high school dramas that my parents once warned me
about–those of which I simply brushed off as myths. It wasn't the 90's anymore– times have changed and people are different–or at least, that's what I
thought.
I think I speak for many people when I say high school is a critical point in one's life. Coming into high school, things seemed to be tightly–knitted
between my peers and I; those of us who had just...show more content...
Her behavior had become odd and her attitude was unusual. The once timid, soft–spoken girl was now, to be blunt–a b*tch. The start of this tumultuous
path was a relationship she had ended a few months prior to date. The guy was a complete control freak. He was manipulative, conniving, and
downright degrading.
What I thought was a new beginning for her and another chance at happiness, had actually turned out to be a complete disaster. It turned out that she
had been involved with him all along. Rather than being honest with us, she lied continuously. We expressed to her that if he brought her happiness
then we had no say so. We had no other option but to be happy for her. However, she still insisted that she'd cut all ties with him.
For my eighteenth birthday the three of us made a pact to get matching tattoos in honor of our friendship; it would've been the first for each of us.
Needless to say, she ruined our plans entirely. One day she'd informed us that her older sister was going to get a tattoo and that she was going for
"moral support". What turned out to be a trip to the tattoo parlor with her sister was actually a cover up for her to go and get matching tattoos with
her ex. Till this day, I believe I never would've known that if I hadn't seen the text messages of her conversation with someone else. It baffled me that
she could be completely open and honest with a stranger as opposed to the people she called

Examples Of A Memorable Experience Essay
Memorable Moments
First, my memorable and valuable experience in college has allowed me the chance to be able to sharpen my study skills in my chosen field.
There have been opportunities for me to learn and improve my skills through my time in college, which I am very thankful and happy about. For
example, at my school, in the Writing Center, I have learned some writing tips that I didn't even know existed, and had this not been a part of my
experience I would still be unaware. Because of this, despite what I was thinking, I still had quite a bit to learn; but this has given me the chance to
improve my craft more through attending school, as well as give me a lot more confidence in the area that I plan to study towards. And as a result,
some day I will have a rewarding career from this memorable and value experience....show more content...

In his essay, "Aria: Memoir of a Bilingual Childhood" by Richard Rodriguez, goes into detail about the struggles he is faced with growing up as a
Bilingual Hispanic in America. He was an immigrant living amongst upper class American's with his family. Strictly speaking Spanish gave him a
sense of safety and comfort. In school, he would not feel comfortable speaking and was not sure where he belonged. When he first started school, he
was a part of the bilingual program up until his parents were informed if would be better for him and his family to learn English. Rodriguez struggled
at first with the battle of losing the closeness he had with his family. Feeling like he had lost his cultural background and let his father down.
Explaining the struggles, he overcame to become who he is today. There are two Educational philosophies that Rodriguez had utilized in his younger
years. The philosophy of supporting Bilingual Education was to help Students acquire the skills of a classroom crucial for public success. Supporters
would report that children miss out a great deal by not being taught in their family's language. "They say that children who use their family language in
school will retain a sense of their individuality– their ethnic heritage and cultural ties" (Kindle 6236–6237). Supporters would also say that children
will have a sense of individuality that retains their family's language. Giving children something to feel different and have something special. "But then
there was Spanish. EspaГ±ol: my family's language. EspaГ±ol: the language that seemed to be a private language." (Kindle 5982–5983). Rodriguez
shared how it was hard fighting between assimilating to American culture and keeping his connection and heritage alive within him.
Rodriguez gave many reasons why one would not be a supporter of bilingual education. By giving examples from his life. What he lived and went
through, finding himself and his voice. By only speaking Hispanic, Rodriguez had a hard time learning, and transitioning into American Culture.
Rodriguez felt held back, not able to learn to the full potential. "I considered Spanish to be a private language. What I needed to learn in school was
that I had the right – and the obligation –

First Person Point Of View Of A Memoir
I wrote this memoir from first person point of view. The reason first person point of view best suits this writing because it is a memoir and it is
suppose to be about a memory you have had, so it has to be in first person point of view to be your memory.
How I stretched myself as a writer in this piece was writing about a specific memory nobody in the classroom could relate to. Some people in the
classroom got to read the memoir and sort of got to "feel" the memory through the writing but not actually feel the memory.
Why I choose the topic of this paper is because it was suppose to be about a memory and this is one of the biggest memories I can remember. How I
choose this topic was by brainstorming a number of different topics of memory

memories of my family and i, burn up as if erasing those memories from our lives.
Once we made it out, i could see my mother holding my sister outside in our driveway, and her cheeks were rosy red, and covered in tears. A fire
truck pulled into our driveway and put out the fire in a matter of minutes. Though the fire that was burning in my home was put out, i felt like there

"Why did this happen to us!", i yelled angrily. My mother tried to calm me down and tell me that everything would be okay, but i knew that it

My Autobiography : My Memoir Essay
My Memoir
I remember myself sitting near a little block with letters and my mother teaching me the name of each of them. She starts to sing me a song to help me
to memorize the alphabet. It is so funny singing the ABC song. At that instant, the door opens, and my father enters the room. That is the first thing
carved in my memory, and each time when I think about it, I conclude that we are the best family in the world.
Starting from my first days of life, my parents did everything to please me; additionally, they always tried to do their best to develop my literacy skills
and help me to become smarter. I always loved learning and each time when they made up some game or a new interaction, it was great fun to play. I
had no idea that learning could be challenging because each task that they offered was easy to accomplish and absolutely doable for me. I grew up
knowing that there was no process more exciting than learning. Besides, at the back of my mind, I was convinced that every new thing I learned was
changing me for better. When I became a schoolboy, my parents were pleased whenever my grades were excellent. I wanted them to feel pleased and
happy all the time. At the beginning, I strived to get an A to deserve some reward; for instance, getting some ice cream seemed to be a sufficient
motivation for me to learn a long text or do loads of assignments. However, later on, I started getting delighted just because when I managed to learn
something new, my knowledge made me

Example Of Autobiography In College

  • 1. Example Of Autobiography In College I was born in Dayton Ohio we lived there for a year I think then we moved to a different part of Ohio Greenville and from there we moved to Kentucky and then Pennsylvania and from there Washington then California then back to Washington. See as a kid growing up my dad was in the cable business we moved so much I never stayed at one school long enough to really make any friends, and it was me my older brother, and little brother, my little brother really got lucky because when it was time for him to start school we were settled. We lived in concrete Washington I started my fifth grade there and it was acutely really nice to have friends and be a kid. Then high school came my best friend and a lot of my friends were two grades ahead of me so...show more content... We loved living in Portland so much to do with the kids the Saturday market was my favorite. Then I picked up a flagging job I was so board out of my mind standing there holding a sigh and wondering if that car is going to stop or keep going and hit you needless to say that job was not for me . I got married at twenty three and was a house wife until both of my kids started school then I worked at a little store for about seven years then we moved to and I worked at a big department store it was fun for a while then drama happens managers are not happy so they take it out on the employees then then we feel un appreciated just a big cycle I began to hate that place I started putting applications out at other places. But I did get this one job that I really wanted until they asked for my high school diploma I was so excited to and I let myself down I knew I made bad choices but I can't dwell on the past I can only fix what's in my future and that's why I am here I want to better myself show my kids that if you work hard enough you can do Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Example Of A Personal Memoir I was born on a cold October morning, well that is something my mother always told me. Perhaps, that is one of the many reasons why I enjoy cold days and drinking coffee. I have live my whole life in Chicago, but I do have dreams of moving somewhere else. My family consisted of my father, mother, and sister, who is my twin, for eighteen years. However, in the past month a newfamily member got added, Toma Heroine Touka, my kitten. It is a really funny story how she came to be added to my family. It all started when I told my dad "If Germany wins that World Cup, then he should get me a cat." My dad took it as a joke, but accepted it. Time passed and I saw that I would never get a cat that I can call my own. It was around late November when Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Example Of Autobiography About Myself Memoir Everyone has their own stories, no matter it is meaningful or not it is their life and their memories. When I told to write a memoir about languages, I could not come up about any ideas. So, I ask Professor for help, my Professor told us that everyone has their own stories and it is interesting, because that is your experiences not ours. People like to hear stories, because it is not their experiences and they want to know what have you been through. Here are little stories about myself. I was born and grow up in China, Tianjin, a big city where just an hour away from Beijing. Since my mom wants to give me a better living environment, and better chance of education; so, we decided to move to US. When I moved to the US in 2012, I was only sixteen years old and barely spoke any English. Even I had learned English for all my school life in China, I still didn't understand when other talking to me. The new life was totally different, it was tough and challenging for me. The new language environment and culture differences were giving me a hard time to fit into this country. When I first came to Chicago; Mother and I went through a great amount of troubles trying to enroll me in a high school. Many schools turned me down because of my lack of English skills. They wrote me a letter and send me to an ESL class at a community college. As soon as my mother settled me down in a small apartment, she left me to work in another state. She needs to make money to support me and our family, so I have no choice to live alone by myself. I was facing the challenge of fending for myself in a totally strange environment, where I didn't know enough English to ask for help. When I was in China, I never had to cook, shop for groceries, and walk to school. For the first time in my life, I had to do everything by myself. I had so little money that I could not afford to eat at restaurants every day. Therefore, I had no choice but to cook for myself. At first, my mother was the only person I can ask for advice. But when it came to practice, it felt ten times harder than it sounds to me. I remember practicing cutting on potatoes. My left fingers were often wrapped with Band–Aids. But I disregarded the pain and kept practicing it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay On Childhood Memories I've often wondered if my earliest childhood memories really happened as I remembered them or have they been tainted by the telling and retelling of stories by my parents and grandparents. Someone seems to always claim, "I can remember when I was in the nursery." Not to be outdone, someone else goes one better, "I remember when I was born." Really? Can one remember those early events or are they figments of their imagination. I'm speaking of the average Joe or Jane, not those who possess special mental "gifts" that the average person isn't blessed with. Take me for instance as the average Joe, the average Jack, actually. One of my earliest memories was riding my new tricycle into the Christmas tree. I vividly remember the tree...show more content... Here's another example: As the "story" goes, I inserted one of Mom's metal bobby pins into an electrical plug and blew the "whole building's circuit." At the time, we lived in a row of two–story apartments, maybe six or eight to a row. Sounds plausible but even I don't believe my memories of this story any more. I doubt that the entire building was fed off a single circuit, but it was post–WWII, cheap housing, so anything's possible. I'm sure, however, that I did put a bobby pin in a wall plug, received a nasty shock, and likely blew that particular circuit, but the "whole building?" I can't buy that "embellishment" anymore. I'm glad the story wasn't retold too many more times – I would have caused a blackout of the whole Niagara Falls power grid. My true recollections of the incident are sketchy at best – a few sparks, a jolt of electricity, and pain. The rest of the events and the commotion that followed were not my memories but those of the storytellers imprinted on me creating a cohesive memory of my first encounter with electricity. I was about 30 months old when I discovered the power and love of electricity. Here's an early event that I always swore is a true memory, but now decades later, I wonder how much is truly mine and how much is my Dad's telling of the story. He was a great storyteller, and I heard his retelling of this story often. Dad's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Example Of Sociological Memoir Sociological Memoir Growing up may not always be easy but you learn a lot about yourself through the journey. In my first year of elementary school, one of my friends was getting bullied by a boy. He would push her down after recess and make her feel really bad about herself. It got to the point where he would do it every single day and I got sick of it. I had to step in and stand up for her, so I ended up yelling at him for being mean to her. I never gave up for her. He was surprised that I stood up for her because no one else did. I never realized why he was being mean to her until I got older because he was white and she was black. He was being mean to her because of her race and gender. (November 13). Even though that was twelve years ago, there still is gender inequality regarding the gender pay gap. Women today are still not making as much as men. Today, on average a woman earns 78 cents per dollar earned by a man. (O'Brien, 2015). I grew up in a middle class family where both of my parents worked everyday of the week. My parents taught me to always be grateful for what I have and for the opportunities that I receive. When I was in high school, I tried out for the Districts in Band on my clarinet. I would practice everyday for two hours for five months in order to be prepared. There was so much build up before the audition that I was nervous and wanted to give up. Since my parents were paying for private lessons with my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Examples Of A Literacy Memoir Literacy Memoir My reading experience has had a lot of ups and downs. I was never an over–achiever in my language arts or reading classes, which has affected my passion for reading. A lot of my opinions about reading have changed even just since this summer. I don't have any recollection ofreading before kindergarten except for learning the letters. Kindergarten was a struggle for me, but after kindergarten to third grade. In third grade I peaked and absolutely loved reading and writing, but it faded in middle school and has been fading since then for me. I do remember what I believe was the first day of kindergarten when we had a flash card test with random small easy words on them. I went through all of the flash cards only knowing the...show more content... It was sixth grade and an advanced English class was chosen. I was discouraged because I actually enjoyed reading and writing but found out I wasn't smart enough to be in that class. However, I would say that seventh grade was my favorite year of English. We still had vocabulary, which I wish we still did because I always have boring essays because I don't remember the words we learned. I wouldn't say that I disliked reading yet in middle school. I'd even say the most exciting part of middle school would be reading The Hunger Games with Mrs. Young, especially since she was kind of a nerd and got overly excited about all of our Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Examples Of A Memoir Essay Memoir I was eight or seven, I lived in Gallup New Mexico at the time. One day in the summer my mother, cousin and I decided to visit our uncle Paul. He was an older man but very athletic he had his own home gym in his basement. When we got to his house he and my mother sat and had a grown–up conversation, me and my cousin Jerry decided to go explore the basement. In our uncle's basement, he had four rooms. One had a huge pool table, another one was filled with weights and matts for yoga, the third one we never went into because the door was always locked. And the fourth, this fourth room would become my worst nightmare, it was filled with elliptical and treadmill equipment. After a while jerry and I got bored with playing our version of pool...show more content... We had a great plan, we decided to go explore the fourth room of the basement. Once inside we started climbing and playing with the elliptical. I looked over to the treadmill and said to jerry, "I've got a great idea. Why don't we get on the treadmill with only our socks on and run as fast as the treadmill can go and then jump off." Now jerry was only a year younger than me but he of course thought it was a great idea. So, we each took our shoes of and stood on the treadmill, the treadmill itself was relatively old and was so close to the wall. We stood there not thinking of the consequences of our actions, looked at one another and grinned a big grin. I turned the knob slowly, we started speed walking the running and running faster till we were panting, the knob was on fast burn the fastest setting on the treadmill. Jerry jumped off, me on the other hand tripped over my socks, I fell and the treadmill still on the fasts setting pushed me up against the wall my neck to the back of the treadmill and my legs bent over my head like a contortionist. I screamed and screamed. My cousin sat there in silence watching this horrid event unfold before him, all the color flushed from his body. I screamed and yelled at jerry to go get help as I attempted to reach for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Example Of Autobiography Research Paper I was born on February 27th 1998 in Cleveland Ohio. I was a premature baby and was only 5 pounds when i was delivered. I got my name from my great grandfather Dequan Anderson Williams. I wasn't a jr because my dad already had my big brother and named him after him. The first five years of my life went by pretty fast. I have many memories from my first five years. One memory i remember was the first time i went to the zoo. I went with my daycare teacher and her two sons. I was three years old and it was a very hot day. The first Animals i saw was these big old elephants. I was so amazed by how tall and big they were. After we seen the elephants we saw two big old turtles who was moving extremely slow. The turtles were making these weird noises that was loud and annoying. After seeing...show more content... After he told me that something just told me to practice harder which is what i did. So by time our next game i was starting on offense and defense. My coach thought it would be a good idea for me to be running back and it was. I scored a touchdown on my third run and i was extremely happy. That season i ended up scoring 17 touchdowns just from running the ball and we ended up winning the championship game. I only remember getting sick one time during my whole chithood. I was five and i woke up in the middle of the night and just started throwing up. After visiting the doctor they said it was just the flu virus. I couldn't do anything for a couple of days including eat real foods. I only could have soup or crackers and after only a few days i was feeling better. When i was only two my parents had my little brother and when i turned 4 they had my little sister. Even tho we all got along i was closer to my brother because we were closer in age and we were like bestfriends. There are many many many stories my family tells about me that i wish they didnВґt. • 9. Memoirs of a Geisha Essay example We follow the life of Sayuri, who begins as a peasant in a fishing village, as she becomes a geisha. The real interest of this book is in the first half– her training and schooling. After that, the book devolves into a rather standard romance–novel–type plot concerning Sayuri's love for the Chairman, an important figure in her life. Ivy, Resident Scholar The story of a Japanese girl with unusual grey eyes that is taken away from her poor fishing village at the age of nine to be taken into slavery and be trained to become a geisha. • 11. Memoir- Losing my best friend Memoir– Losing My Best Friend I remember everything as if it were yesterday. The shock, the sadness, the pain, and the sickness she had to suffer. I remember sitting beside her, holding her hand as she had IV's put into her arms. I remember the conversations we had; she'd explain to me how she just wanted to go outside again; she'd be enthusiastic for the day she got out of the hospital; we made plans for when she beat cancer. Two years have gone by so fast, and there hasn't been a day I haven't thought about her. My day was going on like any other day; everything was the same until the phone rang. I picked up the phone and all I heard was crying on the other end. I instantly got worried and asked frantically what was wrong, but the ...show more content... The longing to be surrounded by nature was killing her. "When I get out, we're going fishing. Got it?" she smiled. "Of course." I promised. A couple hours had passed and the sleep got to her, so I said another sad goodbye and left her to rest. Only one visit left... The next visit was a couple weeks after, the overall vibe was different. The vibe from walking in, her parents, the nurses...something was different. I couldn't figure it out, and I didn't figure it out until I got into Hunter's room. I walked in to see her standing there, waiting for me with a warm and bright smile on her face. My smile grew so wide my cheeks hurt, and tears of joy ran down my cheeks. I ran over to her and pulled her into a hug, and for that moment, everything instantly became better. Then that moment ended. About a week later I got a call from her parent explaining the day before she was supposed to go home she had another seizure. I didn't get to see her for another couple months though. When I got to visit her again, eleven months had passed since the diagnosis. When I walked into her room the vibe felt like a punch in the face, it was just awful. The vibe was like a thick fog, clouding up the room with pain and sickness, altering reality. With every step into the room I took the room got darker and greyer. When I saw her, I knew that death was coming for her. She had gone from the beautiful green–eyed blonde I knew to a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Argumentative Essay Of A Memoir I think the easiest paper to write is the memoir. A memoir is a personal essay about a significant memory in someone's life. This essay is more personal; therefore, the author can choose how to build his memory. Also, through a memoir the reader can see part of the authors past by using vivid detail. An augmentative paper I think is harder to write because it needs a lot of details to create a good paper. First an argument has to be developed, then a claim is needed to support the argument, and finally a refuting argument should be included. This are only part of the requirement needed for an augmentative essay. What's more important is the evidence, it has to be chosen wisely. Ii believe that the paper that is most used in college is writing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. If You Knew Then What I Know Now Analysis Memoir essay is a story telling of a person about significant memory in his life, by using appropriate structure and vivid images. The two essays which are the perfect example for memoir essay would be "If You Knew Then What I Know Now" by Ryan Van Meter and "Physical Evidence" by Kelly Grey Carlisle. The two essay are really good not just because they have great contexts that attract readers, but they also use Aristotelian appeals, tension building, and non–linear chronology to polish their essay. The first common thing about the two essays is that both authors rely heavily on pathos and ethos to tell their story. In Meter's essay, he uses ethos in order to persuade the readers to listen to his advice because he had been through all of...show more content... In "Physical evidence" Carlisle tells a story that would make everyone pauses and thinks about it for a minute because it is very horrifying and very sad. Her story is special, not many people have experienced that in their life. While in "If You Knew Then What I Know Now", Meter has a story that is very relatable. A story about bullying can happen to anyone, also he tells it in a very different way, which can make the reader put themselves in Meter's position. Both of the two memoir essays are very attracting because it is very real. It is what actually happened to somebody, which give them the advantage to tell it in a vivid way. • 14. High School Memoir Assignment Ronya Berrian Professor Paul Jackson English 1101–RG October 4th, 2017 Memoir Assignment I'm sure many have shared stories of their high school experiences and can relate when I say those four years have taught me many lessons. During this time, I'd come face to face with the fraudulent friendships, temporary romances, and other high school dramas that my parents once warned me about–those of which I simply brushed off as myths. It wasn't the 90's anymore– times have changed and people are different–or at least, that's what I thought. I think I speak for many people when I say high school is a critical point in one's life. Coming into high school, things seemed to be tightly–knitted between my peers and I; those of us who had just...show more content... Her behavior had become odd and her attitude was unusual. The once timid, soft–spoken girl was now, to be blunt–a b*tch. The start of this tumultuous path was a relationship she had ended a few months prior to date. The guy was a complete control freak. He was manipulative, conniving, and downright degrading. What I thought was a new beginning for her and another chance at happiness, had actually turned out to be a complete disaster. It turned out that she had been involved with him all along. Rather than being honest with us, she lied continuously. We expressed to her that if he brought her happiness then we had no say so. We had no other option but to be happy for her. However, she still insisted that she'd cut all ties with him. For my eighteenth birthday the three of us made a pact to get matching tattoos in honor of our friendship; it would've been the first for each of us. Needless to say, she ruined our plans entirely. One day she'd informed us that her older sister was going to get a tattoo and that she was going for "moral support". What turned out to be a trip to the tattoo parlor with her sister was actually a cover up for her to go and get matching tattoos with her ex. Till this day, I believe I never would've known that if I hadn't seen the text messages of her conversation with someone else. It baffled me that she could be completely open and honest with a stranger as opposed to the people she called Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Examples Of A Memorable Experience Essay Memorable Moments First, my memorable and valuable experience in college has allowed me the chance to be able to sharpen my study skills in my chosen field. There have been opportunities for me to learn and improve my skills through my time in college, which I am very thankful and happy about. For example, at my school, in the Writing Center, I have learned some writing tips that I didn't even know existed, and had this not been a part of my experience I would still be unaware. Because of this, despite what I was thinking, I still had quite a bit to learn; but this has given me the chance to improve my craft more through attending school, as well as give me a lot more confidence in the area that I plan to study towards. And as a result, some day I will have a rewarding career from this memorable and value experience....show more content... Also, learning about all the different practices and ideas of the religions in different parts of the world, such as worshipping multiple deities, reincarnation, and meditation, has been memorable to me because of its value, and all the misconceptions that are cleared up now that I once had, which has enabled me to understand the topic better and be less ignorant. It has also helped me understand traditions and beliefs of others more clear, no matter where in the world of their origin. • 16. In his essay, "Aria: Memoir of a Bilingual Childhood" by Richard Rodriguez, goes into detail about the struggles he is faced with growing up as a Bilingual Hispanic in America. He was an immigrant living amongst upper class American's with his family. Strictly speaking Spanish gave him a sense of safety and comfort. In school, he would not feel comfortable speaking and was not sure where he belonged. When he first started school, he was a part of the bilingual program up until his parents were informed if would be better for him and his family to learn English. Rodriguez struggled at first with the battle of losing the closeness he had with his family. Feeling like he had lost his cultural background and let his father down. Explaining the struggles, he overcame to become who he is today. There are two Educational philosophies that Rodriguez had utilized in his younger years. The philosophy of supporting Bilingual Education was to help Students acquire the skills of a classroom crucial for public success. Supporters would report that children miss out a great deal by not being taught in their family's language. "They say that children who use their family language in school will retain a sense of their individuality– their ethnic heritage and cultural ties" (Kindle 6236–6237). Supporters would also say that children will have a sense of individuality that retains their family's language. Giving children something to feel different and have something special. "But then there was Spanish. EspaГ±ol: my family's language. EspaГ±ol: the language that seemed to be a private language." (Kindle 5982–5983). Rodriguez shared how it was hard fighting between assimilating to American culture and keeping his connection and heritage alive within him. Rodriguez gave many reasons why one would not be a supporter of bilingual education. By giving examples from his life. What he lived and went through, finding himself and his voice. By only speaking Hispanic, Rodriguez had a hard time learning, and transitioning into American Culture. Rodriguez felt held back, not able to learn to the full potential. "I considered Spanish to be a private language. What I needed to learn in school was that I had the right – and the obligation – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. First Person Point Of View Of A Memoir I wrote this memoir from first person point of view. The reason first person point of view best suits this writing because it is a memoir and it is suppose to be about a memory you have had, so it has to be in first person point of view to be your memory. How I stretched myself as a writer in this piece was writing about a specific memory nobody in the classroom could relate to. Some people in the classroom got to read the memoir and sort of got to "feel" the memory through the writing but not actually feel the memory. Why I choose the topic of this paper is because it was suppose to be about a memory and this is one of the biggest memories I can remember. How I choose this topic was by brainstorming a number of different topics of memory Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Autobiography Of A Memoir Essay ashVictor Garcia Mrs. Elliott English IV 25 August, 2017 Memoir As a child, my perception of the world was clear. I knew what was right and wrong, i knew what was good and bad, and i knew that once you lose something for whatever reason, you may never really recover from it. Though i understood that life isn 't all sunshine and rainbows, losing everything never seemed possible to me. I grew up in a single wide trailer with my older sister and both of my parents. My father had always worked hard to provide a home for my family, and even though we didn 't have the nicest home or the nicest possessions, we were all grateful for what we had. We lived a mostly regular life. My father would work everyday, my mother was a stay at home...show more content... After a few minutes I could hear the footsteps of my family desperately trying to escape the burning flames that was consuming my home. My father busted into my room, and his face was covered in sweat, and his eyes were watery as a cause of the smoke. I knew that at the moment he was filled with fear, but he still scooped me out of my bed and carried me out of my room and into our hallway. My father was running as fast as he could to carry me out of the house, but to me we were moving in slow motion. I began to look around, and i could see picture frames which contained memories of my family and i, burn up as if erasing those memories from our lives. Once we made it out, i could see my mother holding my sister outside in our driveway, and her cheeks were rosy red, and covered in tears. A fire truck pulled into our driveway and put out the fire in a matter of minutes. Though the fire that was burning in my home was put out, i felt like there was a fire in me, but a fire of anger. "Why did this happen to us!", i yelled angrily. My mother tried to calm me down and tell me that everything would be okay, but i knew that it wouldn 't be okay any time soon. When the fire was put out, i walked up to what was left after the fire and i could see that the fire had only burned part of my home. That night we went and slept at my uncles home, but i did not sleep. All i could think of was what had happened that day. I was no longer in my own bed, in

  • 20. My Autobiography : My Memoir Essay My Memoir I remember myself sitting near a little block with letters and my mother teaching me the name of each of them. She starts to sing me a song to help me to memorize the alphabet. It is so funny singing the ABC song. At that instant, the door opens, and my father enters the room. That is the first thing carved in my memory, and each time when I think about it, I conclude that we are the best family in the world. Starting from my first days of life, my parents did everything to please me; additionally, they always tried to do their best to develop my literacy skills and help me to become smarter. I always loved learning and each time when they made up some game or a new interaction, it was great fun to play. I had no idea that learning could be challenging because each task that they offered was easy to accomplish and absolutely doable for me. I grew up knowing that there was no process more exciting than learning. Besides, at the back of my mind, I was convinced that every new thing I learned was changing me for better. When I became a schoolboy, my parents were pleased whenever my grades were excellent. I wanted them to feel pleased and happy all the time. At the beginning, I strived to get an A to deserve some reward; for instance, getting some ice cream seemed to be a sufficient motivation for me to learn a long text or do loads of assignments. However, later on, I started getting delighted just because when I managed to learn something new, my knowledge made me Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Example Of A Memoir Research Paper Nate Bretches Memoir Rough Draft "The surgeon said the right side of her brain has died and the left side isn't far behind." I could not believe what I was hearing. Hearing these words was like listening to nails on a chalkboard–very unpleasant and cringe–inducing. I could not believe this woman who I loved very much and who I had become incredibly close with was on death's doorstep. My grandmother and I had always been very close ever since I was about 4 years old. Besides my great–grandmother who lived in California, she was the only grandmother I knew and loved. My paternal grandmother died a few months before I was born, so I did not get a chance to know her. My grandmother was a remarkable person. She had a smile on her face that could cheer up the saddest person. She also loved people; she was always very sweet and polite to everybody. Even if she did not particularly like the person she was talking to, she would remain polite until the conversation was over. My fondest memories are of her babysitting me, taking me to preschool and elementary school, and being incredibly caring loving to me. I was in the seventh grade at the time. I was sitting in social studies class at Carver middle school in Springfield, Missouri. It was like any other day until my teacher received a phone call from the office. She told me that I was leaving. "Why was I leaving?" I thought to myself. "I don't have any dentist or doctor's appointments." The office staff told me my mom was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
