Business Experience Essay
Personally I had a very displeasant experience doing business with Men's Warehouse. For our wedding I decided to rent the men's attire from the
company, which led to more headache than anything. The day that went in to the store and put our order in, I was a little concerned with how
everything was going to work out. This was due to the staff getting the date confused multiple times, incorrect the colors, as well as the attire itself, and
payment. We stated multiple times that we would be paying for the entire rental, and did not want anybody in the wedding to pay for anything. To start
the spiral of disaster, I received a confirmation with the incorrect date, which lead to me calling customer support to get this fixed. Then the wedding

(2015) a Harvard Business Review study recently quantified the value of the customer experience, demonstrating that delivering excellent support
generates high returns. With that being said staff need to be adequately trained on quickly resolving customer problems that may arise. Staff also needs
to be made aware of exactly how customer service affects overall profitability for the company. The study came to conclude the top five affects in
relation to customer service and the bottom–line. First the study shows that satisfied customers are much more likely to spend more money. Johnson
(2015) states the Harvard Business Review study shows that customers who said their experience met or exceeded their expectations spent
approximately 140% more than customer who reported a negative experience. Second customers who are dissatisfied actually end up costing the
company money by returning products, and exhausting their time with supporting company staff. Third a happy customer tends to be a repeat
customer for years to come, leading to an increase in revenue for the company. According to Johnson (2015) the Harvard study shows that members

Essay about Business Culture
Business Culture
Business culture is the overall running of the company there are many types of business culture and the type of business culture resembles the type of
management. There are four main types of business culture, they are:
Power Culture =============
This is the centralisation of power. This type of culture is usually found in small organisations where control rests with a single individual or a small
group of people. The company spreads out from the single central figure. The advantage to this type of structure is that decisions can be made very
quickly; this makes the company very versatile. A disadvantage to this type of structure is that it is very autocratic...show more content...
The higher an employee is in the company the more decisions they can make. This means that this type of culture can motivate certain employees but
can have a negative effect on other employees depending on the employees in the company.
Task Culture
Task culture is one of the youngest types of business culture, it started to become very important in the first decade of the twenty first century. This is
where employees to work in teams to complete a task, this type of culture fits in well with a democratic style of management. The company gives the
employees a lot more respect under this type of culture, which helps motivate them, another motivator is that this style of culture allows the employees
a lot of autonomy. Employees are encouraged to take on more of a challenge task. The employee's views are often listened to and taken into account, to
help achieve the best overall output.
With this type of culture the employees would need training to be given a more influential role in the company, this may cost the company money,
which may not prove beneficial.
Person Culture
This type of culture is usually used in non–profit organisations; the people they are helping are the central figures in the company. Hierarchies do not
exist, people cannot be made to leave the company. With this type of culture the

business." The best advice for a new entrepreneur interested in starting a business is to create a solid business plan that outlines the business in its

Strategic major milestones to be achieved can be mentioned that include customers, revenue, and expansion details. In a small business blog, Fisher
(2011) states, "Think of it like a birds‐eye view of the company as it currently exists and where you envision it to be in the future." In addition, it
may be worthwhile to include descriptions of the founders of the business and their extending experience from the industry. The operations of the
business is critical in a business plan because it describes the main components of your business. Management duties and responsibilities can be
addressed in terms of the day–to–day operations. This includes what each day of the week will entail for the schedule of the business. Likewise, many
topics should cover the nuts and bolts of the business such as production and manufacturing, inventory, and distribution. Topics such as the location,
employees, and equipment should be considered to provide the most competitive advantage and success for the business. Lastly, every business
requires a structured form of legal registration for licensing, insurance liability and tax purposes.

Essay on International Business
Today's world of rapid increase in and expansion of technology is the reasons for recent International Business growth. The rapid growth in international
business makes an understanding of organizational behavior all the more important for contemporary managers. Businesses have expanded
internationally to increase their market share, as the domestic markets were too small to sustain growth. Business transactions are also becoming

When dealing with international finance, risk is calculated in many different areas. Here, I will discuss the financial risks associated with international
business, with an emphasis on the risk of foreign exchange rates. Country Risk When a business decides to become an international trader, one type of
risk that must be examined is the country risk. When a company accepts or approves credit to a foreign customer, they are not only assuming the
foreign company's risk, but also the country's risk. Country risk analysis means determining the country credit–worthiness. In terms of the ability and
willingness of a foreign government to make available to local companies foreign exchange necessary to service their foreign currency denominated
obligations or debts to foreign suppliers. (www.bcfm.com/financial_manager/szabo%20internationalfm98.htm)
Mitigation of Country Risk
One way a company can help to mitigate country risk is by fully researching the foreign country they wish to do business with. This is accomplished
by conducting a country risk assessment. This assessment takes into consideration the probability of credit loss or delayed payment, and uses the
results to determine if the corporation will extend credit with the foreign business. Foreign Exchange Risks Foreign exchange risks are often the result
of country risks. Foreign exchange risks can be defined as the ability and willingness of the

The value of proper business plan in an organization can determine if the organization will withstand over of time or for years to come for that matter.
In implementing a proper business plan, proper planning in it self is important and valuable to the process.

Short–range planning is for the company to have goals that will be rewarding and easy to obtain.
Long–range planning for the most part seems to be more difficult to adjust and is often times less rewarding. When external environments are
frequently changing management with staff need to ask how to develop plan of actions that will remain relevant. Planning should be no less important in
such a forever evolving environment it needs to be more important.
Businesses that operate to just make profit normally operate without ethics. When a business is not held to standards of accountability it would be as
to have another Enron or a Bernie Maddoff situation. Sociologist Raymond Baumhart wanted to know from business people what ethics meant to
them and some of the replies were "Ethics has to do with what my feelings tell me is right or wrong." "Ethics has to do with my religious beliefs."
"Being ethical is doing what the law requires." "Ethics consists of the standards of behavior our society accepts."
Lack of proper marketing in a business is one of the main reasons a lot of businesses have not succeeded. Strategy planning determines whether one
will live or die or whether they fail or succeed. Marketing strategy is a process that should allow any organization or business to focus its limited funds

Owning Your Own Business There are many advantages and disadvantages when owning your own business. When you own you own business, it's

Five advantages for owning your own business are: 1) The owner receives all profits, meaning that all earnings go to the sole proprietor, or the owner,
and isn't shared with anyone else. The profit is not split among partners, or split among a corporation. So when you own your own business, you're

Reflection
It is important to know how to do well at business writing, because we will use this kind of writing skills when we are working as business man or
woman. Professor Thieme shares many useful key points about how to write, imparting her knowledge so patience to us. I learned a lot knowledge in
ENG 302, and I am so proud of being one of student in this class.
Our first project is to write a claim email, it is an email about a phone can't work as usual, I should complain this problem to the Quality Electronics
company. In the first draft I did not well, because I not read the evaluation of complaint email, and I just wrote what I want. After professor Thieme
helped me to revise my first project, then I know I did many mistakes in structure and content of body paragraph. So, I revised and learned the body
paragraph is an important part of a claim letter, because it contains what happened and what the results I want to get. It is hard to write a good essay
before take ENG 302, even I don't know how to build an appropriate structure. Therefore, I try my best to practice how to write a good structure essay.
Another problem that I did not very well in claim letter is I used to much negative words. From the instruction of the claim letter, "The tone of the
claim letter is important. The most effective complaint letters do not sound complaining, angry, or annoyed". So, do not use negative words is the
second key point I learned in how to write a good business essay.

2.Because the Internet connects computers all over the world, any business that engages in e–Commerce instantly becomes an international business.
The key issues that any company faces when it conducts international commerce include trust, culture, language, government, and infrastructure.
Explain how you would address each of these issues.
To create trust in a business the customer needs to rely on their own name brands. As a new business begins and starts online they face many
difficulties. Due to the kind of anonymity that exists for companies trying to establish a web presence, customers sometimes lack the trust that is
expected because people have been doing business with their neighbors not strangers for many years. As a company begins to take in the growing
aspect to become a larger corporation with multinational operations the reputation of the company grows too. In order for a company to do business
as it grows it should prove to the customers the trustworthiness as it continues to grow. In favor of a business to be successful they need to rapidly find

  • 1. Business Experience Essay Personally I had a very displeasant experience doing business with Men's Warehouse.
