On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, we’re leaving these shores
In early December, we’ll be relocating to a beautiful town called
Asheville, in Western North Carolina where we’re going to make
our home
2. Why America?
It’s an opportunity for a new life, in beautiful surroundings and a
fantastic culture
Tara gets to be close to her parents
We can get back to the UK in less than a day
Its going to be a great adventure!
3. Why Asheville?
The Appalachian Mountains (AKA The Blue Ridge Mountains, The
Smokey Mountains)
Alternative lifestyle – Very liberal place, lots of culture and things
going on (music, art, theatre, performance, societies)
Fantastic food and drink – Asheville is one of the most vegetarian
friendly cities in the US with four dedicated vegetarian restaurants
and its also Beer City USA with over 20 breweries within 30 miles
Nature and surroundings – Lots of parks,
climbing and walks; great architecture,
including ‘Biltmore’
Great downtown area – Easily walkable,
lots to do in a few blocks
Close(ish) to Tara’s parents – Only a five
hour drive!
4. Are You Coming Back To
The UK?
You bet! We’ll be back to visit at least once a year
We’re going to be doing ‘House Swapping’, where we
exchange houses – So a person comes from the UK
and lives at our place in Asheville and vice-versa
This means that we can stay here for up to a month at
a time
But, we also want you to come visit us!
