Title: I Drink Beer (When I’m Not Drinking Wine)
Description: A rebrand of the original 1957 Pacific Pilsner design including their first
sailboat and waves. I loved the old school look and blue and white combinations are
my ideal colors. Also, after working a decade in the liquor industry, I know the clientele
firsthand and they like it simple. The rich navy blue would also fit in perfectly with the
dark forest green of their #1 selling beer, Caribou.
Title: The Sasquicentennial
Description: Serendipity is a
wonderful thing. I had thought
about using a sasquatch as
part of the branding and
while researching what gifts
to give for a 150 year old’s
birthday, I learned the name
of the anniversary was the
sesquicentennial, The play on
words was too good to pass up
and the message wrote itself.
Well, not really, it was me.

Business
Title: Paul’s People
Description: My cross section of business cards which includes an early prototype of my own
branding. The top two cards were for fellow college students, Xenia Oliver and Mina Li. Xenia was
studying hair design in the salon training program. I loved her initials and immdediately branded her,
XO. I had fun creating the logo and working with a photo no one else had paid attention to find
some magic hidden in the lights. Mina was studying to become an esthetician in the spa training
program and wanted a simple design using only her two favorite colors.
The last card was my own and although I do love the typography and the red comes from the color
of my favorite album of all time, I had a chance to revisit the idea later on and come at it with a
much deeper understanding of the process and better skill set.

Magazines
Title: Farce
Description: Class project consisting mainly of my own photos and writing with some
work done with copyright free material. Styled after the more humourous aspects of
magazines like Esquire, GQ and The New Yorker. I ended up learning a fair bit on what
actually does make one find something funny.

Title: Crumbs & Fingers - The Movie
Description: Class project where we were randomly assigned fairy tales and themes. I was asked to make a comedy out of
Hansel & Gretel. I did some research and leaned towards a German-Canadian brother & sister cop duo. The third design is a nod
to 80s foreign movie posters, however, the first poster was the final submission and one of my favorites.

Title: Emotional Breakdown
Description: The fisrt poster was my final entry for the grad show poster competition we had at our school. The middle poster
showcases the original shape I had intended and is actually tattooed on my body in a different form. However, I think the third
poster would have best lent itself to the friendly spirit of competition we had between the day and night classes.

Title: Enough Information
Description: We were randomly paired up with different departments to work with for new branding. There are so many
more versions but these were voted the top three with the first design being chosen to represent the school’s learning
centres at the Broadway and downtown campuses.

Title: First Responding Web (The Others Never Called Back)
Description: My first hand coded responsive web site. It’s a portfolio site I put together to showcase
my work. It takes real strategy and a lot of trial and error to get these to behave properly and it was
extremely rewarding to know that I can build my own little corners of the internet with plenty of
hashtags, semi-colons and parantheses.

Title: The Rooms
Description: I created a series on Facebook groups dedicated to various topics ranging from TV/movies, comic books, sports, good drinks,
food, books and a few others people started on their own from the idea. Here are my six favorite cover photos I’ve made for two of the
groups, The Spoiler Room (TV/Movies) and The Locker Room (Sports)

Fun Stuff
Title: You’re In The Army Now, Font
Description: A photographic essay highlighing the little things
and turning them into something much bigger. I do have some
plans to revisit these in the future as it’s an inventive way
build typography.
Title: Me, Me, Me, Me, Me
Description: Photoshop can do wonderful things. Not only can it make
you look ten years younger, it can give you a chilling vision of a world
of only yous. It was like Being Paul Landrovich but with more hair.
