1. With 85% of household buying decisions in the hands of females, why do we not have more brands led by
females nor more female executives across established brands?
Is this a question of diversity in the workplace and how can leading brands tackle this public issue?
As part of our ‘Women in Retail Tech Breakfast’, leading retail executives will share their views on retail, advice
on how to grow your brand and career and how to best tackle diversity in the marketplace.

cosmetic companies on board, Adore Beauty has
since grown to more than 160 brands, 12,000 products,

Multi award-winning Lana Hopkins is CEO and Founder
of Mon Purse, the world’s first design-your-own leather
handbag and accessories brand to scale mass
customization. Lana founded Mon Purse in early 2015.
The company was born out of Lana’s inability to find
the kind of handbag quality and design to satisfy her.
She saw an opportunity to create a disruptive model
to provide fully customisable leather handbags that
target the affordable luxury handbag market. Lana
was previously at News Ltd, and a Founder of an
e-commerce start-up which was sold prior to Mon
Purse. Mon Purse sells to over 35 countries globally
and online and has partnered with iconic global
retailers Bloomingdale’s, Selfridges and MYER as well
as Laura Brown (Editor in Chief, InStyle USA) who
created her own custom collection. The latest Mon
gallery has recently launched in San Francisco, being
the largest store yet at 850 sq ft opposite Louis
Vuitton, replacing Dior in the iconic department store
Bloomingdale’s.
Mark is the CEO of Temple & Webster and co-founded
the business in 2011. Mark has a background in digital
media from his previous role at News Limited. He was
also one of the founding directors of NORA. Temple &
Webster is a homewares and furniture retailer which

moving to Sweden in the late 1990’s during the Internet
boom. After a career as a Financial Controller she
changed focus and gained her Masters of Science
(eCommerce) in Ireland. She then relocated to the
Netherlands to work on the establishment, and later
production, of the first Nike Online store for Europe
incorporating both NikeStore and NikeID and covering
multiple languages and currencies. A move back to her
home country of Australia saw Amanda work in various
online roles with market leaders in Financial Services
and Marketplaces. But it was the role at Nike Australia
managing the Online business that established her as
an eCommerce leader, and saw her grow the business
nearly 15 times over in the space of 4 years. Since
leaving Nike, Amanda has taken on a new challenge to
develop the Luxury Division of L’Oréal Australia’s
eCommerce business and since joining in June 2016 she
has launched two new websites with two more to come
in 2017.
