PERSONAL DATA:
Australian permanent resident.
LICENCES:

Drivers Licence Class R Motorcycle
OBJECTIVE: Position as a Locomotive Driver. Seeking a role that will enable
me to utilize my relevant skills, extensive experience as a
Locomotive Driver and commitment.
Personal Summary:
I have been a locomotive operator for over 30 years. Currently a train driver for Tas
Rail. I have a wide range of experience as a Train Driver as worked previously for
Pacific National Coal, Pacific National Queensland Freight, Rio Tinto Iron Ore and
Tranz Rail (now called Kiwi rail)
I have Heavy Haul experience with remote locomotives in the train consist. Proficient
in Electronically Controlled Pneumatic (ECP) brake systems. Driving trains safely
using fuel management - saving fuel.
Banker locomotive operations.
I have a strong belief and commitment to safety. My motto is to work safe, stay
safe, go home safe and if anything, is not safe to make it safe by eliminating the
risk.
I have been employed in rotating shift work for over 30 years. I understand health
and safety risks associated with shift work arrangements, and I am experienced in
fatigue management.
I am an enthusiastic self-starter able to work in any situation. I have initiative,
commitment, flexibility, and a strong ethics for working hard. I have good
communication and writing skills.
Working independently or part of a team, I am always willing to go the extra mile,
and I am excited about continuing to grow and develop my skills.
I am in the process of doing Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. I have brought a freight train to a stop when observing an over gage loaded
container, which was overhanging. I organised the container to be
repositioned on the train correctly, preventing a major disaster to the
infrastructure, rolling stock and the customers freight.
2. While working with Pacific national I implemented a system to have all speed
restrictions be put in a folder available to all staff as required and up dated
daily.
3. In the interest of saving fuel, I always use train management strategies to
save fuel, thus using gradients and easements to my advantage.
4. While at work several times I have gone without my meal break to get the
train in on time.
5. More recent due to flooding, trains did not run for a few weeks. I advised
management that there needs to be protection on public level crossings for
the first train to run, which they did. This may have prevented a level crossing
accident, with possible crossing alarm failure due to rusty rail conditions.
