Use of Should - Fourth Grade

1. USE OF SHOULD
We use the modal should to give advice and
recommendations.
We use the base form of the main verb after a
modal.
- you should eat a lot of vegetables.
- She should go to the doctor.

2. We form the negative by adding not after the
modal should.
It is more common to use the contracted
form.
- We should not drink a lot of soda.
- We shouldn’t drink a lot of soda.
