• Solar energy comes from
the Sun.
• The Sun generates energy
in its core in a process
called nuclear fusion.
• Only a small portion of the
energy radiated by the sun
into space strikes the
earth, one part in two
billion.

Solar energy is used in two ways:
•Thermal energy: is energy
possessed by a liquid (water) when
is heating by the solar rays. Central
heating or obtain warm water
•Photovoltaic energy: is the energy
created by converting solar energy
into electricity using photovoltaic
solar cells.

• Solar energy is a resource that is
not only sustainable for energy
consumption it is in indefinitely
renewable.
• Solar power can be used to
generate electricity, it is also used
in relatively simple technology to
heat water.
• The use of skylight in home
construction can also greatly
reduce energy expenditure
required to light rooms in a homes
interior during the day

•The primary disadvantage of solar
power is that it obviously cannot be
created during the night. The power
generated is also reduced during time
of cloud cover.
• Solar panel energy output is maximized
when the panel is directly facing the
sun. If not we will see a reduced energy
production when the sun is not at an
optimal angle.
•Even todays most efficient solar cell
only convert just over 20% of the suns
rays to electricity
