The shift towards the use of electronic media in scholarly communication appears to be an inescapable imperative. However, these shifts are uneven,
both with respect to field and with respect to the form of communication. Different scientific fields have developed and use distinctly different

We see notable risks in a pure laissez–faire "let them work it out for themselves" approach. Large amounts of money, resources, and effort are being
committed (by government agencies, by academic departments, by publishers, by professional societies, and by individual researchers) to the
development, maintenance, and promotion of various forms of communications technologies for use in global science. However, in the absence of a
valid theory of how scholarly fields adopt and shape technology, scientists and policy–makers are left only with context–free models, and hence
resources may be committed to projects that are not self–sustainable, that wither, and that do not effectively improve the scientific communications
system of the field. The consequences may not only be sub–optimal use of financial resources, but also wasted effort on the part of individual
researchers, and even data languishing in marginal, decaying, and dead systems and formats. The purpose of this JASIS perspectives article is to
deepen our understanding of the future of electronic communications in science. It is difficult to predict the longterm future, as too many contingencies
can and will shape long–term outcomes to make meaningful predictions. One may casually predict that that many if not all research journals will issue

Use Of Electronic Media
I have heard people say that someone is "on their phone too much". I guess this statement could describe myself because I spend almost any
moment when I am not busy on my iPhone. In fact, I have even spent some money on subscriptions for mobile apps. But at times, I give up usage
of electronic media to focus on life's simple pleasures. By keeping track of my use of electronic media, I have gained a clear understanding of how such
usage affects my life. On Saturday, August 26, 2017, I used my iPad for over five hours. I spent over three hours playing video games on my family's
Xbox One console, almost 2 ВЅ hours using my MacBook Pro laptop, and over two hours watching television. I only used my iPhone for 15 minutes.
Two days later, I used my phone for over five hours, while I surfed the Internet on mycomputer for nearly half the time. I spent more than a half hour
on my tablet and about the same amount of time on a Windows computer at school. And the next day, I spent over 4 ВЅ hours on my phone and more
than 3 ВЅ hours using my tablet. I used a Mac computer at school for more than an hour and my laptop for more than half the time. I think my use
of electronic media definitely reflects my personality and interests. I like to stay informed of current events, so I constantly check my phone for
notifications I need to clear, as well as my Gmail and Facebook accounts. I enjoy watching true crime television series, including American Greed,
Snapped, Deadly Sins, and Deadly Women. I rely on the Xfinity Stream, Oxygen Now, and ID (Investigation Discovery) GO to view this genre of
shows. I like to unwind with a game every once in awhile, and I often play Bee Brilliant, Family Feud 2, Family Feud Live, Wheel of Fortune, and
Wheel of Fortune Free Play on both my phone and my tablet. Very rarely do I play video games on a console, but I enjoy driving games, including
Grand Theft Auto V. I play this game on my family's Xbox One, while my father and brother usually monopolize it. I also watch my two favorite game
shows, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud, on a high–definition television, my phone, or my tablet. I am an aspiring musician, so I spend time
drafting lyrics on the Songwriter's Pad app on my tablet or create

Ray, et al.(5) from India reported that children having exposure to violence through media had poorer school performance and its impact on their
psychosocial adjustments was detrimental. Another study from India showed that vivid display of violence through media (9/11 terrorist attack)
caused stress in adolescents(6). Yama, et al.(7) described that some of the fears, tensions, bad dreams and tendencies towards delinquencies of children
are a result of frequent and a regular exposure to murder–mystery movies, and stories filled with violence and torture that children view on TV and
movies. Association between TV viewing and suicidal behavior has also been reported from India(8). Both content exposure and screen time of media
had independent detrimental associations with school performance in children and adolescents (9). Hopf, et al.(10) showed that the more frequently
children view horror and violent films during childhood, and the more frequently they play violent electronic games at the beginning of adolescence,
the higher will these students' violence and delinquency be at the age of 14. Primack, et al.(11) showed that excessive TV viewing in adolescence is a
risk factor for development of depression in young adulthood. TV viewing may play an exacerbating, if not causal, role in the development of
attention–deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)(12). This hypothesis is consistent

Advanced countries, it was claimed, were evolving from an industrial to an information society. The term "industrial revolution" had been used before
the term "communications revolution," and now these two "revolutions" were compared. They had each influenced both work and leisure and how we
think and feel both about place and time, but in each case there had been controversies about their economic, political, social, and cultural implications.
"Benefits" were weighed against "harmful" outcomes. Generalizations proved difficult. The press and the journalists who wrote for it had always had
their critics.
Television was attacked more comprehensively for "consuming much [time and] energy" while ignoring "the fundamentals of life."
Not everyone agreed–or agrees–about the "causes" of the communications revolution. Were there single causes of particular episodes in it? The words
"cause" and "effect," which have been applied to each technological change in turn, from the steam engine to the computer, are quite inadequate. It has
never been possible to isolate each single effect, big or small. Technology by itself does not explain. The same technology was used in quite different
ways in different political and social contexts.

It has been reported that the future of electronic information is not embraced by a lot of the news media as free interactive services generate low
levels of interest with pay–per–call services as the main source of revenue. However, Rupert Murdoch saw the opportunities offered by new

Premise Statement
The premise of my thesis is that electronic media has become the leading source society utilizes to obtain information on world events. My research
shows how electronic media has grown over the years from being a medium for news and entertainment purposes into the complex powerhouse it is

There are many species in the world, however, human is the only one who can talk, understand, think and act according to his own wish. This means
human is the only species who can communicate with other humans. Thus, communication plays a vital part in human life. In simple terms,
communication is effectively interacting with each other. Defining communication, it can be the process by which people exchange information or
express their thoughts and feelings (Longman Dictionary, 2011). Some of the earlier methods used for communication have been visual and audio in
the form of gestures, sound and pictures/drawings. Technology today has transformed these sounds and gestures to produce speech, videos, films,

tremendous use in today 's world. Emails, mobiles, internet have become a necessity for living. There is no easy access to things without an electronic

current state of media throughout the country. In this section I will argue that the Law on Electronic Media has not only failed to be implemented
properly, but that cultural, political, and economic factors have resulted in a climate that has substantiality impaired the ability and willingness of the
nation to fully comply with EU standards governing media. I will establish this claim through exploring past and current problems with the Law on
Electronic Media relying on scholarly sources and original analysis of a few of the many barriers currently facing the law and its full implementation.
While many scholars have sought to understand issues of compliance with EU law across the European Union and among new member states, few
studies have sought to examine in depth the failed implementation of a single law. This is an approach I believe to be particularly pertinent to
illuminating those issues and underlying problems that may directly impede implementation at the micro–level. The Law on Electronic Media

The hand of electronic media has been extending its reach into many different aspects of our lives throughout the rise of more advanced technology,
starting with the advent of the radio. This new and exciting age of electronic media feeds into the amazement of our nation, by creating outrageous and
seemingly impossible ways to become connected, that the generation of the radio would have never imagined. Electronic media has produced a
substantial amount of positive impacts in our society, like allowing us the instant connectivity to world problems and news, but with the invention of the
television, we as a society fell into the trap that television show producers laid out for us. We feel as though we now have a need for every snippet
or shred of news and information to be presented to us in an entertaining form. This need to feel entertained at all costs stretches into the realm of
religious televised programming as well; to aid in the success of television show ratings, producers of religious programming have removed any
substance or deep spiritual meaning from their programs in order to appeal to a wider scope of the nation. This indeed seems to be the greatest
expense that the growth of electronic media renders since it rattles the nation's religious core values and morals. The requirement of having an

fully overtake the fascination of newspapers and magazines, because nowadays we can see that people are still buying newspaper and hard copy books
