2. Pamela Jeanne Bublitz – Bio
Pamela began her musical career at the age of three on the piano, her debuts on the piano
at age six, and on the violin at 14. Since then, she has performed as soloist and recitalist
both in the United States and abroad. She has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall both on
the piano and violin.
Pamela has appeared as soloist with L'Orchestre de Bordeaux D'Acquitaine, the BBC
Symphony, the Bernkastel Kammersymphonie, the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra,
amongst many. She has served as concertmaster, principle second violin, principle violist,
and section violinist, with both chamber orchestra and opera orchestra. She spent two
years as first violinist with the Bloomfield String Quartet, in residence at Wichita State
University in Kansas. She has participated in the Casals Festival (PR) with Ruben Gonzalez,
L'Academie Maurice Ravel, with Jean Pierre Wallez and Heather Kelly, Bowdoin Summer
Music Festival, Weathersfield Music Festival (with Almita & Roland Vamos), and was a
guest at the 1989 Marlboro Music Festival. She has twice been featured on “Live from
Studio One” broadcasts on WFMT, Chicago Fine Arts Radio, most recently performing her
viola debut with Georg Philipp Telemann's 12 Fantasias, originally composed for violin.
As a composer, her scores have been performed internationally, with broadcasts of her
animated film score on the VH-1 and NBC networks. She was recently invited to compose a
work for violin and voice based upon the award winning poetry of Chicago native Ted May,
who was co-artist in residence with Pamela at the Cliff Dwellers in Chicago 1999.
Her principle teachers are Martin Fischer (former principle violist with the Busch/Serkin
Chamber Orchestra), Carla Maria Rodrigues (principle violist San Francisco Opera), David
Perry (1st
violin Pro Arte String Quartet), and Almita & Roland Vamos. Pamela served as
graduate assistant to the Vamoses for three years and to David Perry for two.
