1. Brett Deubner, one of this generation’s most accomplished violists, has inspired worldwide criti-
cal acclaim for his powerful intensity and sumptuous tone. As an experienced soloist, chamber
music collaborator and educator, Brett Deubner has made a lasting impression on musical life the
world over.

Other concerto engagements include appearances with the North Shore Philharmonic, the String
Orchestra of the Rockies, the Falmouth Chamber Players, Camerata del Loja, the Desert Sym-
phony, the Central Jersey Symphony, the New Sussex Symphony Orchestra, and the Southern
Maine Symphony. Upcoming concerto appearances take Brett Deubner to the Penninsula Sym-
phony in California, the Winchester Orchestra in Virginia, the Missoula Symphony Orchestra,
the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra in New Jersey, and the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado Méridain
in Venezuela.
A prolific recording artist, Mr. Deubner recorded the two concertos of Frank Lewin for Albany
Records, the concerto of Andrew Rudin for Centaur Records and will be releasing the viola con-
certo of American composer Trent Johnson. He has also recorded three acclaimed solo CDs for
the Eroica Classical Label as well as numerous chamber music recordings. A new CD recording
featuring the rarely heard works of Soviet era composers is due out in the fall of 2010.

Brett Deubner’s commitment to championing the works of living composers is evidenced by the
more than twenty dedicated concertos written for him by such legendary composers as Lalo
Schifrin and Samuel Adler. During the 2009-2010 season, Brett Deubner premiered four concer-
tos that were written especially for him. In 2010-2011 Mr. Deubner will perform the premiere of
Roger Stubblefield’s Concerto for Viola and Orchestra and in 2011-2012 he will give the world
premiere of concertos written by American composers Sylvia Lee Mann, Charles Nichols and
Gregg Wramage.

2. As an active chamber musician collaborator, Brett Deubner has appeared at the festivals of
Caramoor, Heidelberg, West Branch International Music Festival, Norfolk, Kent-Blossom, Sitka,
Juneau Jazz and Classics, Cape May, East Coast Carolina, Bravo in Vail, and the Windham Festi-
val. He has collaborated with many of the leading artists of today including pianists: Joseph
Kalichstein, Robert Koenig, Beth Levin, Anton Nell, Marcantonio Barone; violinists: Tim Fain,
Odin Rathnam, Lars Bjornkjaer, Paul Rosenthal, Zvi Zeitlin, Nina Beilina; cellists: Sara Sant’
Ambrogio, Wendy Warner, Jeffrey Solow; as well as the Colorado, Tokyo and Vermeer quartets
and the Claremont Trio.
Brett Deubner is the Artistic Director of Music and More, an exciting concert series serving the
New York City metropolitan area. In addition to being in constant demand in master classes and
chamber music coaching, Brett Deubner serves on the faculty of Temple University’s Boyer Col-
lege of Music and Dance in Philadelphia and has been the Concert Artist in Viola at Kean Uni-
versity since 2004.
