9. Journey Camp for Girls
In partnership with the Maryland Leadership Council, WGC sponsors
rising 8th and 9th grade girls to attend this overnight camp focused
on leadership, empowerment, self-awareness and decision-making
skills.

11. Young Women’s Giving Circle
In 2010, a group of high school-aged girls formed the Young
Women’s Giving Circle, with the goal of learning about
leadership, philanthropy, fundraising and community service.
In 2011, in their inaugural year of fundraising, they awarded
their first grant for $601 to Girls on the Run of Howard
County.

Expo
A free introduction to careers
in science, technology,
engineering and math
(STEM) for middle and high
school girls.
Held in partnership with The
Johns Hopkins University
Applied Physics Laboratory
(APL) and Math Engineering

attracts over 500 girls and
