Decision Making

      By: Fatima Guerrero
          Speech 105
The 2 Ways People Make
Decisions
 Involuntary decision making
 Voluntary decision making
Involuntary Decision
 Pattern of acting, thinking and feeling
 Usually made out of habit, reflex and
    repetition.
 We learn them over time
Involuntary Decision
 Especially if we get something in return such
  as an incentive/reward.
For example: You are polite to someone at work
such as a customer and they treat you back
nicely even ask to talk to a manager because
you were polite to them you get employee of
the month and get a raise for being polite to
customers that makes you want to be polite to
every customer so that you get more good
  things happen at work.
Involuntary Decision
 All of us make involuntary
    decisions without even
    thinking of them most of
them are for our own safety
    but sometimes not thinking
can also get us in trouble.
 Many of our involuntary
    decisions have to do with
    hidden persuaders aka
    hidden messages in movies,
    videos, music (muzak), even
    stores, images in
    advertisements hidden
images that is all of these
    make us respond differently.
Voluntary Decision
 Depending on the Situation what you
decide, the goals you choose, who’s
involved in what you choose, what is
the occasion can have to do with what
you as an individual decide what
    decision you take.
Voluntary Decision
 Takes longer time to decide what
decision to make its more difficult need
to see the pros and cons of the decision
you are going to take what effects will it
have in the long run for that individual.
Voluntary Decision
 But other outside sources can also
  influence the individual such as:
 Credible sources

 Authority figures

 Peer aka peer pressure

And many more…
Voluntary Decision
 Many people look up
    to authority figure to
    question and decide
    what is the best
    decision to take.
Voluntary Decision
 But most of the time while thinking out
of all these decisions we learn from
what we do right and what we do wrong
and what will do better next time.
