• One of the main characteristics of the DSO is that it shall be independent at least in
terms of its legal form
3. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• DSOs are key players for enabling a successful energy transition while providing
high quality services to all customers. E.g. the distribution system stability, power
quality, tech efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Evolve to adapt energy markets changes. E.g. implementing smart meters to
understand real time energy requirements and develop trends for energy
production.
• Should adequately support their customers. E.g. should address customers needs
and choices in terms of connection quality, security and continuity of power supply.
