otherwise it might be a disappointment to the family name. If parents go to college their kids are less likely to be educated about school and the
benefits. The article, "Top 10 benefits of a college degree.", explains the benefits for children in years to come that have educated parents. "Parents
with advanced degrees are three times more likely to read to their kids every day than parents who haven't finished high school, and twice as likely to
participate in other educational activities like visiting museums and libraries." Children are more motivated to go to college and have a better
chance of succeeding in life. Some individuals are against going to college or identify no importance in it because students think it's possible to can

Argumentative Essay On College Education
In today's ever changing economic climate the cost of tuition is the biggest issue students today face. The cost of tuition is so high that middle class
families are struggling to put their children through college. This injustice is causing the decline of certified personnel ready to enter the workforce;
and causing an increase in unemployment. For many a college education is just an unobtainable dream. Everyone deserves this dream to become a
reality, and should not have to struggle financial to do so. To address this issue college students must constantly apply for scholarships, and hope for
financial aid. When push comes to show loans are an option, but for students without a credit history, or a worth co–signer, these are nearly impossible

Value Of A College Education According to Lundberg (2003), "adult students are one of the most rapidly growing segments of today's college
student population, making up approximately 40% of all college students" (665). Having a college education is an important tool that contributes
to several aspects of a person's life. The areas that are impacted the most would be the professional and personal areas. It is important to learn the

The educational experience helps in this development by presenting students with many challenges, choices, and obstacles along the way. A college
degree is a huge accomplishment and most companies know that intense work and dedication was put into earning that degree. Employers also know
that college graduates are taught to express their thoughts clearly in speech and in writing and to make informed decisions. That is why most college
graduates are viewed as professionals upon entering an organization. Personal Aspects The value of a college education also shows in the personal
aspects of an individual's life. Some very important values are developed while attending college. Some of these values include maturity, individuality,
work ethics, time–management skills, and a sense of personal accomplishment. Having these values instilled will help to mold the type of person
you will be in your professional life and in your personal life with friends, family, and most importantly, with yourself. Importance

High Cost Of College Education Essay
Many students dream of having a college education since they began attending school. They believe that a college education will help them obtain a
stable career and be successful. Unfortunately, the cost of college tuition is steadily rising, hindering many of these students from achieving their dream
of earning a four–year degree. Some people claim that college is not for everyone, but work is, thereby placing a greater emphasis on trade schools.
The high cost of college, however, should not inhibit students from reaching their dreams of having a higher education. A college education has
numerous benefits, and whoever truly desires having one will find the means to do so. Perspective One asserts that the incredibly high cost of tuition is
reasonable because it is returned to the students in the form of improved infrastructure, technology, and services available on college campuses.
Students do not spend thousands of dollars to use the campus's technology or infrastructure when they could very well use their own. A portion of the
tuition might be utilized for the housing of the student. It pays for the dorm room, water, and electricity used...show more content...
Those who are wealthy are more capable of paying for the cost of college, and are therefore, more likely to get a degree. Their college education will
aid them in finding a career that helps them to continue making a living. Meanwhile, those who are poor have much more difficulty in paying off
tuition and will probably drop the option of attending college in order to avoid debt. As a result, they are left with the jobs that require only a high school
education and pay minimum wage. This process lets the rich continue to be the rich and lets the poor continue to be the poor, thereby, creating a wider
gap between the two classes. While this perspective holds some truth in it, perspective three is more

College Education DoesnĐ’Ò‘t Guarantee Success Essay
How can some people struggle when they have a degree from a quality institution, while others can be successful without a college degree or in a field
unrelated to their degree? In my opinion, it's because a college education doesn't guarantee success. Success is up to many other factors that college
often does not teach. I believe that certification tests would be a better replacement for the BA, because they would separate the students with the will
and determination from those who are just coasting their way through their courses. Having other forms of means like certification tests would better

Someone might be thinking if they drop out of college they'll be working labor and dirty jobs, but in reality if that person looks for the right
position I bet that they can get the job. It probably won't be the career they intended to start upon, but over time that person can make the decision to
go unto another job. Moreover that person would likely need some sort of degree if one is dealing with medicine, dentistry and law, but with the
necessary experience that person may have under their belt it will be easier for them to make themselves more marketable in terms of experience.
Additionally, they all share one thing in common: they require results, and in many cases, require years of hard work and study to achieve success.
When looking at the bigger aspect having an education is different from a degree. An education can be formal, informal, self–directed, on the job
training, professional licenses and certifications, or any other form of education. It's easy to discount icons such as Michael Jackson, George
Washington, Gandhi, Bill Gates, Lebron James and many others who did not go through a traditional four year degree program (College Dropouts). I
can imagine the amount of hard work, training, practice, and study they had to go through to achieve their success and often equal or far exceed the
amount of effort an average person puts into an average 4 year degree. Even

Argumentative Essay On College Education
The path to success has been remodeled over the years by different generations due to the developing mind. College does educate and challenges
people to do more and think more. We can clearly see this example because the developers of this debate are both college graduates. Later on in life
more and more questions will be asked and answered. College has an importance that is so popular but that importance has a value. The developing
world and society will always view college as something necessary no matter what because is has proved to be a path and a escape to a better life.
People that have specific circumstances and cannot pursue college have often been denied of a huge opportunity that can be life changing to almost
everyone. No one can judge intelligence based on economical stability or tests, but what the educational system seems to be judging intelligence on is
the bank account of the projected student. There is a saying that says "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance." But as technology is
constantly advancing and computers are running almost anything, is a college education really necessary? There are people whom have never set foot
in a college and are doing better than people who have their master's degree. There are views from both sides that contain a valid argument.
A college education helps people and prepares them for the entry into the real world. Students learn what exactly personal freedom is and then they

Affordable College Education Essay
It is the duty and responsibility of all Americans to ensure access for all children pursing higher education. However, with growing costs associated
with college, dedicated students have less access to an affordable education than ever before. While higher education is intended for passionate and able
students, who have demonstrated academic excellence in high school, high–achieving low and medium income students are limited in their college
options financially. I believe the best option to ensure that all high–achieving students have access to an affordable college education is to reform
out–of–state enrollment criteria for all public universities.
While private universities are the most costly to attend, public universities are left unequipped...show more content...
To stipend the lesser enrollment of instate–students at the top public universities in their states, lower tier public universities will also be required to
admit all high–achieving instate–students with a 3.6 or more unweighted grade–point–average, who completed at least 2 advanced placement courses in
high school
(exceptions will be made for students at high school that do not offer advanced placement courses).
Also, these students will be required to have no disciplinary or criminal record (unless for extenuating circumstances) and an SAT or ACT score
composite at or over the 65th percentile. This ensures that all deserving instate students will have a spot in one of their affordable public universities,
while also ensuring greater funding and spending abilities at these schools.
In brief, reforming out–of–state enrollment at public universities is the most effective way to increase public funding. This approach does not
increase taxes for citizens, and ensures a decent education for all qualified applicants. Education is a necessity that is only available to some because
of costs, but with my approach, all eligible students will have access to a great public

Persuasive Essay On College Education
College education will serve as a basis for someone's lifestyle if they work for it. This will open up doors and release opportunities for individuals
that want it. College graduates will gain more intelligence than those that have only graduated high school. This type of constructionism will only work
if students have a motive to be successful. The price of a four–year degree is quite valuable. College graduates have been proven to gain more money,
learn an abundance of skills, and embrace diversity.
To begin, college education has benefits that could go on forever. One of those advantages is the amount of money college graduates earn. In the
article called "Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Say," by David Leonhardt, it describes the outcomes of having a degree and the assistance
behind that. The future of a human being depends on the financial support. As mentioned in the text, "The pay gap between college graduates and
everyone else reached a record high last year," (1). When jobs look at someone, it will become dependent upon past achievements or downfalls.
People will accept a person with a four–year degree over someone without college experience. Individuals that gain more money, were most likely
taught in college.
In opposition, student debt from college can create long years of struggling issues. Students may feel like this is a disadvantage. According to the
article, it mentions, "Among four–year college graduates who took out loans, average debt is about

The Challenges of College Education Essay
Many college scholars have attended school prior to college for twelve of more years of their life. During the first twelve years the students undergo
many obstacles some of which are trivial and some are more difficult. Even though all have experienced more than a decade of schooling, many
students are still not prepared for the demands of college level education. Even though previous education is supposed to prepare students for college,
college education is much more difficult because it demands extra time and effort from students and provides less guidance from instructors. The
higher standard and quality of education, first, demands greater time and effort from students. In preschool, elementary, middle and even highschool,

The required agenda involves teaching only basics of the subjects. However, at a collegiate standard, all students are adults meaning they are
accountable for the outcomes of their education. The assignments and the required efforts to study are the sole responsibility of the students to
complete on their own. In college, less time is allotted in class; therefore, students must take personal time to dedicate to their education. The courses
are oriented at a faster pace and the quantity and quality of education is increased over the shorter period of time. More topics are covered with more
detailed intensity. Extra energy must be exerted from the students to completely master and understand the subjects. Compiling onto the extra
workload, the students also receive minimal guidance from the instructors. Less guidance is given to the individual students and larger class size is
another great challenge college education endows. Lower–level education has a smaller student to teacher ratio. The students are given more individual
counseling because no class exceeds twenty–five or thirty students. In contrary, at most universities, classes can exceed two hundred students. Given
the designated time to cover the topics, there is not enough time to cover the subject material thoroughly and also provide the individual assistance
necessary for some students to completely comprehend. Furthermore, unlike teachers of intermediate education, college professors many times do not

Essay about Higher Education
Higher education is optional, but to enter a respectable career, one must continue their education in order to achieve his financial and/or personal goals.
Teenagers who attend college use their extended schooling to further obtain knowledge. The primary objective of higher education is to enhance one's
abilities for his future. A student can learn from school in numerous ways, but liberal education is not a way to attract students into further and higher
education. However, students can learn a lot more through experiences that have affected their personal lives. I agree with author Mike Rose's theory

However, he has not thought about the students who want to attend college and quickly earn their degree so they can start their careers.
I disagree with Bloom because he encourages the idea of taking extra irrelevant classes to achieve the experience of education. It usually takes about
four years to earn a bachelors degree. There are many courses such as English, math, history, art, etc. that a student must go through before they get to
start on the classes that concentrate on their intended major. These basic courses are part of a program called general education. After completing
general education (which usually takes about two years), the students can then begin to study for their degree. Colleges should abandon the law of
students having to take general education courses because the courses are irrelevant to their field of study, unnecessary and a waste of time. Instead of
taking the extra courses, students can simply meet their needs of a degree in a shorter period of time. Also, Bloom not only that wants students to take
general education courses, he wants them to further their education by taking advanced irrelevant courses. Therefore, in their future, they would have
numerous opportunities for a better career. Because if a job is not right for the student, he would have other choices to obtain a new job.
Rose feels students should not learn from the canon books style. Students have an easier time learning when they relate to the

The Importance Of A College Education? Essay
A college education has a different meaning for every person in the world. To someone a college education could mean that they're smarter than
most, or it's one more step closer to their future goals, or it could just be another piece of paper to make their family proud. The importance of a
college education depends on what a degree means to the person. I think the true purpose of a college education should be base more on a personal
level, and not a broad level. The reason why I think the purpose of a college education should be; don't exactly mean that everyone else agree with

If decided to attend college, the following decision to be made revolves around an area of study one would like to pursue and the topic of study that
will be available for them. Though many can further their education in different ways, a couple of ways consist of attending a four year college (private

young students all through high school to attend college. A student's chance of economic success in the future can be risen due to a college education.

My College Education
Ever since I was fifteen I wanted to attend college. I wanted to do something with my life and peruse a dream. I knew a college education was an
important aspect and I wanted to experience it. I had goals that I wanted to achieve, and I knew it was not going to easy. I need to find a way to

I believe college is something everyone should at least think about going to or attending. Neither of my parents attend college, but I got my
inspiration from my grandfather who did attend college. I went to visit my grandparents one night, and we started talking about life and how
everything was then we got off on the topic about college. He asked me what plans I had when I graduated high school. I replied with the usual answer
of "I don't know". He gave me a stern look and told me that I better figure it out before it is too late. That night I laid in bed and thought about what
he said to me. I kept asking myself questions like "Can I afford to go to school?", "Are my grades good enough since I missed so much school and
homework?", or "How will my parents react when I tell them my choice?".
A couple of days later, I talked to my school counselor about my options to pay for college tuition. She informed me about Pell Grants and
scholarships that I qualified for. One in particular stood out to me, it was called Oklahoma Promise. It paid for everything that I

  • 1. College Education Essay College can play an enormous role in life, and one of those roles is to help earn a job that is important in today's society. Most people think college is beneficial, some people believe that's not so true. There are obvious benefits that most people know about like, more job opportunities, bettering the education of people, becoming qualified in a subject and manifesting destiny. College can also help score a well paying job. Even though there is student debt, with a well paying job, it can pay it off quickly. College is an essential requirement for success because it gives opportunities to succeed in life. College is a monumental part of the years to come in life and will help provide students with a job. It is the next step in a...show more content... They know that their parents pushed through adversity to earn their degrees, and they apply that same philosophy to going after what they want in life – a bar that is placed that much higher by having college–educated parents." (Life,14) There is a pressure on society to obtain a college degree, otherwise it might be a disappointment to the family name. If parents go to college their kids are less likely to be educated about school and the benefits. The article, "Top 10 benefits of a college degree.", explains the benefits for children in years to come that have educated parents. "Parents with advanced degrees are three times more likely to read to their kids every day than parents who haven't finished high school, and twice as likely to participate in other educational activities like visiting museums and libraries." Children are more motivated to go to college and have a better chance of succeeding in life. Some individuals are against going to college or identify no importance in it because students think it's possible to can receive a job without an education and still succeed. In "Why a College Degree May Not Be Worth It" the article talk about jobs in 2018. "[W]e cite in the book that by the year 2018 there will be 14 million jobs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Argumentative Essay On College Education In today's ever changing economic climate the cost of tuition is the biggest issue students today face. The cost of tuition is so high that middle class families are struggling to put their children through college. This injustice is causing the decline of certified personnel ready to enter the workforce; and causing an increase in unemployment. For many a college education is just an unobtainable dream. Everyone deserves this dream to become a reality, and should not have to struggle financial to do so. To address this issue college students must constantly apply for scholarships, and hope for financial aid. When push comes to show loans are an option, but for students without a credit history, or a worth co–signer, these are nearly impossible Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. value of a college education Essay example Value Of A College Education According to Lundberg (2003), "adult students are one of the most rapidly growing segments of today's college student population, making up approximately 40% of all college students" (665). Having a college education is an important tool that contributes to several aspects of a person's life. The areas that are impacted the most would be the professional and personal areas. It is important to learn the value of a college education in order to take advantage of what you learn and how to productively apply it in your personal and professional life. Having a college education is something that can always be looked at as a positive achievement that feels good and looks good on a resume. Earning a college degree...show more content... The educational experience helps in this development by presenting students with many challenges, choices, and obstacles along the way. A college degree is a huge accomplishment and most companies know that intense work and dedication was put into earning that degree. Employers also know that college graduates are taught to express their thoughts clearly in speech and in writing and to make informed decisions. That is why most college graduates are viewed as professionals upon entering an organization. Personal Aspects The value of a college education also shows in the personal aspects of an individual's life. Some very important values are developed while attending college. Some of these values include maturity, individuality, work ethics, time–management skills, and a sense of personal accomplishment. Having these values instilled will help to mold the type of person you will be in your professional life and in your personal life with friends, family, and most importantly, with yourself. Importance      I believe that a college education helps to develop maturity. Although this can really depend on the individual and at what point in their life they are attending college. I realize that I will need to work hard and prioritize in college in order to gain the most out of my time and the money invested. I have been in the business world for some time now and have realized that in order to move ahead Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. High Cost Of College Education Essay Many students dream of having a college education since they began attending school. They believe that a college education will help them obtain a stable career and be successful. Unfortunately, the cost of college tuition is steadily rising, hindering many of these students from achieving their dream of earning a four–year degree. Some people claim that college is not for everyone, but work is, thereby placing a greater emphasis on trade schools. The high cost of college, however, should not inhibit students from reaching their dreams of having a higher education. A college education has numerous benefits, and whoever truly desires having one will find the means to do so. Perspective One asserts that the incredibly high cost of tuition is reasonable because it is returned to the students in the form of improved infrastructure, technology, and services available on college campuses. Students do not spend thousands of dollars to use the campus's technology or infrastructure when they could very well use their own. A portion of the tuition might be utilized for the housing of the student. It pays for the dorm room, water, and electricity used...show more content... Those who are wealthy are more capable of paying for the cost of college, and are therefore, more likely to get a degree. Their college education will aid them in finding a career that helps them to continue making a living. Meanwhile, those who are poor have much more difficulty in paying off tuition and will probably drop the option of attending college in order to avoid debt. As a result, they are left with the jobs that require only a high school education and pay minimum wage. This process lets the rich continue to be the rich and lets the poor continue to be the poor, thereby, creating a wider gap between the two classes. While this perspective holds some truth in it, perspective three is more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. College Education DoesnĐ’Ò‘t Guarantee Success Essay How can some people struggle when they have a degree from a quality institution, while others can be successful without a college degree or in a field unrelated to their degree? In my opinion, it's because a college education doesn't guarantee success. Success is up to many other factors that college often does not teach. I believe that certification tests would be a better replacement for the BA, because they would separate the students with the will and determination from those who are just coasting their way through their courses. Having other forms of means like certification tests would better implement employers with the important resources in determining whether or not applicants for any given job position hold the best...show more content... Someone might be thinking if they drop out of college they'll be working labor and dirty jobs, but in reality if that person looks for the right position I bet that they can get the job. It probably won't be the career they intended to start upon, but over time that person can make the decision to go unto another job. Moreover that person would likely need some sort of degree if one is dealing with medicine, dentistry and law, but with the necessary experience that person may have under their belt it will be easier for them to make themselves more marketable in terms of experience. Additionally, they all share one thing in common: they require results, and in many cases, require years of hard work and study to achieve success. When looking at the bigger aspect having an education is different from a degree. An education can be formal, informal, self–directed, on the job training, professional licenses and certifications, or any other form of education. It's easy to discount icons such as Michael Jackson, George Washington, Gandhi, Bill Gates, Lebron James and many others who did not go through a traditional four year degree program (College Dropouts). I can imagine the amount of hard work, training, practice, and study they had to go through to achieve their success and often equal or far exceed the amount of effort an average person puts into an average 4 year degree. • 6. Argumentative Essay On College Education The path to success has been remodeled over the years by different generations due to the developing mind. College does educate and challenges people to do more and think more. We can clearly see this example because the developers of this debate are both college graduates. Later on in life more and more questions will be asked and answered. College has an importance that is so popular but that importance has a value. The developing world and society will always view college as something necessary no matter what because is has proved to be a path and a escape to a better life. People that have specific circumstances and cannot pursue college have often been denied of a huge opportunity that can be life changing to almost everyone. No one can judge intelligence based on economical stability or tests, but what the educational system seems to be judging intelligence on is the bank account of the projected student. There is a saying that says "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance." But as technology is constantly advancing and computers are running almost anything, is a college education really necessary? There are people whom have never set foot in a college and are doing better than people who have their master's degree. There are views from both sides that contain a valid argument. A college education helps people and prepares them for the entry into the real world. Students learn what exactly personal freedom is and then they learn how to enjoy freedom in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Today's world economies are so tied together and react to one another that only the brightest and smartest will survive. The better educated a student is in the specific career that they have chosen to earn a degree in will give them the educated edge so that they can out compete with foreign markets. President Barack Obama said "In this kind of economy, countries who out–educate us today will out–compete us tomorrow. Already, China is graduating eight times as many engineers as we are. By 12th grade, our children score lower on math and science tests than most other kids in the world," ("Full"). American colleges need to do a better job at improving math and science scores so that the graduating student can better compete in the world market Asian countries are continuously outperforming American students. Gary W. Phillips, chief scientist at the American Institutes of Research said "In this case, the bad news trumps the good because our Asian economic competitors are winning the race to prepare students in math and science," (Dillon). I have always wanted to be an Accountant and in order to attain this goal; I knew I have to be educated. Education is vital to me and I believe having a good college education is the catalyst to a successful future, which will equip me with the knowledge of the world around me. Personally, apart from benefiting from a college education socially, it will open up windows of opportunities for me in the labor market. This would give me a competitive edge in a work place environment and hopefully, the skills I would be acquiring would enable me adapt to different working environments around the world. • 10. Affordable College Education Essay It is the duty and responsibility of all Americans to ensure access for all children pursing higher education. However, with growing costs associated with college, dedicated students have less access to an affordable education than ever before. While higher education is intended for passionate and able students, who have demonstrated academic excellence in high school, high–achieving low and medium income students are limited in their college options financially. I believe the best option to ensure that all high–achieving students have access to an affordable college education is to reform out–of–state enrollment criteria for all public universities. While private universities are the most costly to attend, public universities are left unequipped...show more content... To stipend the lesser enrollment of instate–students at the top public universities in their states, lower tier public universities will also be required to admit all high–achieving instate–students with a 3.6 or more unweighted grade–point–average, who completed at least 2 advanced placement courses in high school (exceptions will be made for students at high school that do not offer advanced placement courses). Also, these students will be required to have no disciplinary or criminal record (unless for extenuating circumstances) and an SAT or ACT score composite at or over the 65th percentile. This ensures that all deserving instate students will have a spot in one of their affordable public universities, while also ensuring greater funding and spending abilities at these schools. In brief, reforming out–of–state enrollment at public universities is the most effective way to increase public funding. This approach does not increase taxes for citizens, and ensures a decent education for all qualified applicants. Education is a necessity that is only available to some because of costs, but with my approach, all eligible students will have access to a great public Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On College Education College education will serve as a basis for someone's lifestyle if they work for it. This will open up doors and release opportunities for individuals that want it. College graduates will gain more intelligence than those that have only graduated high school. This type of constructionism will only work if students have a motive to be successful. The price of a four–year degree is quite valuable. College graduates have been proven to gain more money, learn an abundance of skills, and embrace diversity. To begin, college education has benefits that could go on forever. One of those advantages is the amount of money college graduates earn. In the article called "Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Say," by David Leonhardt, it describes the outcomes of having a degree and the assistance behind that. The future of a human being depends on the financial support. As mentioned in the text, "The pay gap between college graduates and everyone else reached a record high last year," (1). When jobs look at someone, it will become dependent upon past achievements or downfalls. People will accept a person with a four–year degree over someone without college experience. Individuals that gain more money, were most likely taught in college. In opposition, student debt from college can create long years of struggling issues. Students may feel like this is a disadvantage. According to the article, it mentions, "Among four–year college graduates who took out loans, average debt is about Get more content on HelpWriting.net

During the first twelve years the students undergo many obstacles some of which are trivial and some are more difficult. Even though all have experienced more than a decade of schooling, many students are still not prepared for the demands of college level education. Even though previous education is supposed to prepare students for college, college education is much more difficult because it demands extra time and effort from students and provides less guidance from instructors. The higher standard and quality of education, first, demands greater time and effort from students. In preschool, elementary, middle and even highschool, ...show more content... The required agenda involves teaching only basics of the subjects. However, at a collegiate standard, all students are adults meaning they are accountable for the outcomes of their education. The assignments and the required efforts to study are the sole responsibility of the students to complete on their own. In college, less time is allotted in class; therefore, students must take personal time to dedicate to their education. The courses are oriented at a faster pace and the quantity and quality of education is increased over the shorter period of time. More topics are covered with more detailed intensity. Extra energy must be exerted from the students to completely master and understand the subjects. Compiling onto the extra workload, the students also receive minimal guidance from the instructors. Less guidance is given to the individual students and larger class size is another great challenge college education endows. Lower–level education has a smaller student to teacher ratio. The students are given more individual counseling because no class exceeds twenty–five or thirty students. In contrary, at most universities, classes can exceed two hundred students. Given the designated time to cover the topics, there is not enough time to cover the subject material thoroughly and also provide the individual assistance necessary for some students to completely comprehend. • 14. Essay about Higher Education Higher education is optional, but to enter a respectable career, one must continue their education in order to achieve his financial and/or personal goals. Teenagers who attend college use their extended schooling to further obtain knowledge. The primary objective of higher education is to enhance one's abilities for his future. A student can learn from school in numerous ways, but liberal education is not a way to attract students into further and higher education. However, students can learn a lot more through experiences that have affected their personal lives. I agree with author Mike Rose's theory that education needs are reached to obtain a higher academic level by teaching students information that can be related to their personal...show more content... However, he has not thought about the students who want to attend college and quickly earn their degree so they can start their careers. I disagree with Bloom because he encourages the idea of taking extra irrelevant classes to achieve the experience of education. It usually takes about four years to earn a bachelors degree. There are many courses such as English, math, history, art, etc. that a student must go through before they get to start on the classes that concentrate on their intended major. These basic courses are part of a program called general education. After completing general education (which usually takes about two years), the students can then begin to study for their degree. Colleges should abandon the law of students having to take general education courses because the courses are irrelevant to their field of study, unnecessary and a waste of time. Instead of taking the extra courses, students can simply meet their needs of a degree in a shorter period of time. Also, Bloom not only that wants students to take general education courses, he wants them to further their education by taking advanced irrelevant courses. Therefore, in their future, they would have numerous opportunities for a better career. Because if a job is not right for the student, he would have other choices to obtain a new job. Rose feels students should not learn from the canon books style. Students have an easier time learning when they relate to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. What Does A College Education Mean To Me Essay I live in an impoverished town, with a 40% increase this year in opioid deaths, where the education system pumps under–educated teens onto the streets they came from, with no chance of a job. Many parents and adults do not care, know, or understand the value of a college education. This is my reality. Just as it does not define who I am or what I want to be, neither do my SAT scores. We neither have nor can afford private SAT or ACT tutors. No one tells us to start preparing forcollege, even as seniors. My SAT training was me, myself, and I studying between jobs and after homework, whenever and wherever I could find a quiet place. Consequently, I have SAT scores that do not reflect all I know. There is no word for how frustrating this is, least of all unfair....show more content... I was out of place, a quiet girl whose clothing was obviously not fashionable, lucky if she had a bag lunch, and no reason to be confident. I was picked on relentlessly by others who recognized an easy target. My chaotic home life was never conducive to good grades, or school for that matter. No one I knew was a role model and no one volunteered to step up to be one. With no social life and a toxic home life, my grades plummeted before they had a chance to climb. As the freshman year concluded, I saw the writing on the wall. I started making the seismic shift that put me on my path to success to become a top college graduate. Summer residents helped me gain confidence in who I was and take control of my life. While others still bully me every day it no longer phases me, they became mere hot air whistlers in the wind of the halls. I found places to go, things to do, and made an effort to speak with people who would value knowing me; it turned out there were a lot of them. I realized I am strong and resilient, and nothing is going to stop me from obtaining my goal of living a successful, interesting, effective life of my own Get more content on HelpWriting.net

To someone a college education could mean that they're smarter than most, or it's one more step closer to their future goals, or it could just be another piece of paper to make their family proud. The importance of a college education depends on what a degree means to the person. I think the true purpose of a college education should be base more on a personal level, and not a broad level. That's why I think the purpose shouldn't have an overall answer, but should be dictated based on personal belief. • 21. My College Education Ever since I was fifteen I wanted to attend college. I wanted to do something with my life and peruse a dream. I knew a college education was an important aspect and I wanted to experience it. I had goals that I wanted to achieve, and I knew it was not going to easy. I need to find a way to support the cost, the illness my mother was going through, and the negative comments I received because, I wanted something better. I believe college is something everyone should at least think about going to or attending. Neither of my parents attend college, but I got my inspiration from my grandfather who did attend college. I went to visit my grandparents one night, and we started talking about life and how everything was then we got off on the topic about college. He asked me what plans I had when I graduated high school. I replied with the usual answer of "I don't know". He gave me a stern look and told me that I better figure it out before it is too late. That night I laid in bed and thought about what he said to me. I kept asking myself questions like "Can I afford to go to school?", "Are my grades good enough since I missed so much school and homework?", or "How will my parents react when I tell them my choice?". A couple of days later, I talked to my school counselor about my options to pay for college tuition. She informed me about Pell Grants and scholarships that I qualified for. One in particular stood out to me, it was called Oklahoma Promise. It paid for everything that I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
