To whom it may concern:
During the summer of 2013 I had the privilege of advising and supervising Ms. Olivia Baer.
Olivia was a Creative Learning Intern with Cleveland Clinic Office of Civic Education Initiatives,
a branch of Cleveland Clinic that provides the opportunity for exceptional high school and
returning college students to gain first-hand experience with careers in the medical field. In this
internship, Olivia worked on projects that involved creative and professional writing, graphic
design, film and even acting. During this time, Olivia impressed me with her abilities as a
creative person, as well as her character as an individual.
As an artist, Olivia is very creative and has an excellent sense of design. I often found Olivia
using free moments to draw in her sketchbook, which she made a habit because she wants to
improve and because she just loves to draw. This blend of skill and passion was evident when
she showed me her growing portfolio of drawings and paintings. Her creativity was clearly seen
through the video project she was assigned, where she pushed past early ideas to get to the
best ones. Olivia’s sense of design was also shown through the dynamic graphics she
developed for the video and corresponding print piece.
In addition to her artistic and creative abilities, Olivia is a wonderful person to be around. Olivia
pursues excellence in all her work and is persistent when challenges arise. In the midst of a
very rigorous internship program, Olivia demonstrated her ability to learn quickly and to adapt.
She embraced the idea that a successful career in a creative field requires strong writing skills
and a commitment to respect clients and provide them with an excellent product.
Olivia Baer is an outstanding student who is committed to growing and producing quality work.
Thank you for taking the time to review this letter, and please do not hesitate to contact me if
you would like to further discuss her potential as a student at your school.
Sincerely,
