• Municipalities addressing the SDGs: used as a checklist and awareness-
raising and motivation tool for public employees, but not always
systematically in planning
• Need for more data and statistics to localize the SDGs: collaboration
agreement between the region and Statistic Denmark, but many indicators
still missing

3. Recommendations from the OECD:
The SDGs as a tool to shape the next
Regional Development Strategy
• Use the SDGs to engage all the key regional actors in the design, development and
implementation of the Regional Development Strategy (private sector, municipalities,
civil society and schools, etc,)
• Develop indicators at regional and municipal levels
• Support municipalities that are already quite active on the SDGs to further their
current efforts, as well as those that still have to start
• Use the SDGs as a tool to move
forward with the well-being and
quality of life agenda of the region
• Framework for the next Regional
Development Strategy (2020-2023)
through the SDGs
• Scale up initiatives that involves schools and civil society in a more systemic way,
like the Global High Schools, to inform and engage students with the SDGs
• Map of all the agents of change for the private sector to be more engaged in the
regional activities on the SDGs

attractive green options
