2. Objectives 20 March 2019
• Provide tangible inputs to the planning and decision making
concerning the proposed programme/s in relation to the
King Hassan II World Water Prize
• Identify partnerships and projects involving members of the
WGI within or focusing Africa and focus countries
• Contribute to preparations of the next plenary of the Water
Governance Initiative in Berlin on 20-21 June.

3. Some key points discussed
• The programme to unfold as a multi-stakeholder partnership
• Supporting policy dialogues, and other types of activities involving
WGI members, and partners in Africa.
• African co-ownership is considered crucial
• Relevance in relation to AMCOW’s Strategy 2018-2030

4. Next steps
• Ensuring contributions from WGI members with active partnership in
Africa
• Deliver some tangible results at WWF8 (Dakar) and ensure follow-up
beyond 2021
• Ensure cohesion of projects and programme partnership before as
well as during the WWF.
• Ensure institutional anchorage in Africa (AMCOW and regional
entities
• Action planning for the next steps
