Accelerated corrosion testing showed NYSHIELDTM protected steel fasteners joined to magnesium and carbon fiber for over 15 years of simulated exposure, while uncoated fasteners failed within a few years. NYSHIELDTM maintained uniform thickness, had suitable coefficient of friction and tension holding properties, and demonstrated strong adhesion and resistance to automotive fluids and cleaners.
