2. What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you
wanted to give up?
My motivation was my kids, my husband, and myself! I was inspired to keep pushing
because when I set a goal, I have to achieve it. I never really gave much effort to
losing weight before. This time, I knew the time was right.
How did you change your eating habits?
I reduced my calorie intake and stopped drinking soda and juice. I only drink water. I
also tried to stay away from high-calorie foods.

Starting weight: 250 pounds, size 18
Current weight: 170 pounds, size 10

When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in August 2019. After about a year, I lost a total of 80 lbs. I’ve
had setbacks, but I never gave up. I have kept the weight off. Now I’m in the process
of trying to lose 15 more pounds, gain muscle, and tone up.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I did not have weight loss surgery. My journey was natural.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

3. The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is weight loss is achievable! I never really saw
myself being smaller. I almost felt like it was unachievable for me. That could be why
I never really tried. I would tell myself there is no way I could count calories and deny
myself anything, lol. I would wonder how people could only eat half of a donut, lol.
Then I became that person!
I have cheat days, but I have definitely changed from drinking milkshakes with no
regrets, lol. I understand that being healthy is more pleasurable than eating high-
calorie foods!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Stay consistent! and don’t give up! If you don’t work out one day, do it the next day. If
you don’t eat right one day, do better the next day! It can be done. Weight loss is
achievable!
